Vehicle Detail
This is a 1986 GMC C1500. It has been bagged (body dropped), had a Corvette Engine added, many engine upgrades, a custom built suspension, custom paint, custom interior, and custom exhaust as well as actual body work for customization. THE TRUCK IS FULLY FUNCTIONAL AND RUNS EXCELLENT. I am only letting it go because I recently moved out and bought a house with my fiancee and don't have the garage space for it. The truck was a gift from my father and it pains me to let it go, but we could used the money to jumpstart our future. IT WILL MAKE SOMEONE EXTREMELY HAPPY FOR YEARS TO COME, AS IT DID FOR ME! We recently took a few videos; these videos are without even cleaning or washing thr truck (fyi). We'll add some more in the coming days (whenever it stops raining), to REALLY showcase how nice the truck is inside and out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_Smv5ivoUs&context=C49e654dADvjVQa1PpcFPvoS7nxGOCd2mVJ_ZrJcHtoUt8pHT7g8g= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEgEx3AmV4M&context=C4a46850ADvjVQa1PpcFPvoS7nxGOCdw5odI4Sxtuzn_4cOXNeVME= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPdQbHuaiY0&context=C40c7b0aADvjVQa1PpcFPvoS7nxGOCd5oQBa9qGVQiBiXbqLXANyA= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXWBPF25HUE&context=C49249f6ADvjVQa1PpcFPvoS7nxGOCd4nvqcd9z7Py9XflcMxnP_4= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-sMgbFAjsRE&context=C47b6780ADvjVQa1PpcFPvoS7nxGOCd9TawClzz0NwMdrSez1nKKg= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rXjzFMC13w&context=C4b23f73ADvjVQa1PpcFPvoS7nxGOCdzdkwqGayEWpfk8IZL6GLho= Many of the videos make it appear we aren't traveling that fast, but I can assure you of quite the opposite. The Truck was featured in several magazines, but this is the only link I could find to one. It's an older spread, but just to prove that it was in magazines: http://archive.gaugemagazine.com/2007/December/GMCTruck.htm The only thing which has been changed since this magzaine is shortly after he took out the 350 motor and put in a Corvette LT1 motor. The Exterior: As seen in the pictures, the exterior is a Sonic Blue. It's an awesome color. The rims are 22" Boss, I cleaned them up last weekend and they shined like crazy, but the pollen was been terrible here.....Again, I'll add a video of it cleaned and shining Saturday or Sunday. We added a Phantom Billet grill, clear taillights (DOT approved), chrome flame mirrors, had the license plate transferred to the back of the bed (with a light for night driving) and it is held by a custom built display which is painted the same as the truck, and we had the gastank sanded down and transferred it to the back of the bed near the tailgate. The style with which the truck was "bagged" is known as a body drop, it is the most expensive way, but "the only way"! The suspension is rebuilt and to make space for the generator (to engage the airbags) the entire bed of the truck is lifted about a foot. In the pictures, you can see that the bed is raised quite a bit, and to show the professionalism; just look at the fenders which were also completely raised to not hit the wheels when sitting on the ground. All the tailgate was restored, and the original GMC logo on the back has the letters filled in to match the Sonic Blue exterior. There are very few flaws to the vehicle excepting (of course) where the truck has been sat on the ground and the bottom (not visible) has some indications. (IT SITS ON THE GROUND), but I can assure you it has always been lowered cautiously. Interior: The interior is gray tweed and gray leather, which is in near flawless condition. The seats are a mixture of gray Leather and Tweed, which is nicer than leather because leather (alone) is more likely to rip and tear. The floorboards were redone to match accordingly with gray carpet. We also put new floormats in to match. The dashboard is gray leather. When you fold down the seat you see the back of the cab is upholstered with gray tweed and has the indentions "GMC" in it. We installed brand new seatbelts as well. We did a great job of remodeling the truck while leaving many of it's original components for character; the dashboard gauges, air vents, power window buttons, door handles, etc are all original and in great working condition. The push down door locks are chrome as well and aftermarket. There is an aftermarket cd played installed (Eclipse), and the steering wheel was replaced with a hotrod (chrome and black leather) wheel. The switches for the electric fan, air bags and generator are located conveniently under the streering column and they are chrome as well. The motor is a Corvette LT1 and runs FANTASTIC, the transmission (as stated in the magazine) was completely rebuilt 5 years ago. The truck has only been driven occasionally and locally, and has added only 1,000 miles in that 5 years, so everything is in tremendous working order. I had two seperate mechanics inspect the vehicle and both said the engine is as strong as ever, the transmission works great, etc. Within the last month I've put in a BRAND NEW BATTERY, CHANGED THE OIL, AND PUT ALL NEW SPARK PLUGS IN. Needless to say It is ready to go! I can't imagine this truck staying for sale long, it is not only one of the most classic truck styles in history, but it is in immaculate shape (again we restored and used it for shows and sunday drives), and I've never seen another one like it! Note: The mileage listed is on the body alone (which has been completely restored anyways), the engine, transmission, etc was all seperate and added later. The Corvetter engine had only 58k when we got it. So the truck has tons of life left. The buyer would have to come pickup the truck from my location. Again, it could be driven to new location but trailer would be recommended. I mean it is a show truck, so it should be treated like one. Video is a little hard to see because of how the sun was, and I wish it showed the paint color better. It's so pretty up close. Sonic blue- it's somewhat royal blue, but the closer you get/depending on what light hits it it could be lighter or darker. On Mar-26-12 at 14:25:25 PDT, seller added the following information:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erH-pFBuaDo&context=C408d6f9ADvjVQa1PpcFPvoS7nxGOCdzdkwqGayEWpfk8IZL6GLho=
