Restoration project that never received the time it was due. Awesome 1968 Dodge D-100 Sweptline 1/2–ton 2 wheel drive pickup! Father purchased from original owner in 1970, same family from then till now. This truck is currently not in running condition. Original engine, tranny and rear end. Truck has only 62607.9 original miles and was originally equipped with additional saddle tanks. The engine is a 318 that was removed and rebuilt in 2004 to repair a leaking rear main seal. Block dipped, baked, and cylinders re-honed by local machine shop. Been on engine stand ever since. Central Atlantic coast weather has taken a toll on the body. Minor rust and corrosion are starting to develop, most notably on the windward (Passenger) side of the body. Passenger rocker panel has rotted through. Both lower rear corners of the doors are starting to show signs of rust. The rest of the body is straight and in decent shape. All trim pieces slightly faded but intact. Grill is straight and clean, currently in storage in the attic. There is a bit of paint peeling from the tailgate as well. Due to the lack of time and other more pressing priorities, this project has languished for far too long. All the parts are on hand, just no time to put it back together. Needs new home and lots of care. Please remember you are looking at a very old and well loved vehicle. There is no such thing as a ‘Perfect’ used vehicle. I have done my best to describe every issue with this truck, but it may have a couple of small scratches or minor dents that I might have missed. Please be aware that you are considering the purchase of a “PROJECT” vehicle which, by definition, means that there will be a LOT of work involved with getting her running properly again!
