Vehicle Detail
1979 Firebird Esprit 301 Pontiac V-8. The original engine was professionally rebuilt and has 66,000 miles. It runs good, does not smoke, no coolant leaks. The original automatic transmission is in good condition. It has power steering, power front disc/ rear drum brakes, A/C (does not work), high power Jensen AM/FM cassette stereo, deluxe interior, auto transmission. Vehicle has been stored for awhile, drove fine last time on road. The car has an original deluxe interior. The driver's seat has tears. The rear seat in in excellent condition. The console is in excellent condition. The door panels are also in very good condition. The console top and armrests were replaced with Pontiac OEM parts. There is no dye anywhere. Overall, the interior is in very good condition considering the age of the car (in part because this car has always been garaged). See pictures for body condition. There is some rust on driver's side quarter panel. The car has the original factory mayan red paint on both quarter panels, the roof, left door and driver side fender. There never any plastic filled dents in these panels. The passenger side door and fender (original never replaced) were repainted many years ago because someone scratched these panels. The paint has since cracked so it was sanded and primed. The driver side fender has some small holes on top side. The passenger door mirror is included (lost mounting bracket), as well as additional wheel opening moldings and rocker chrome moldings. The car has good front brakes. The brake line leading to the rear ( along drivers side of car) rusted out and will need to be replaced. The other rear lines and wheel cylinders are in good shape. The car comes with six Pontiac Rally II wheels, all of which are in excellent condition. The BF Goodrich tires are good and have no cracks. I am the second owner. My mother purchased the car new in 1979 and I acquired it in 1989. It has never been abused. It has been carefully driven throughout its life and well maintained. As mentioned above, the car has always been garaged. It would make a good restoration project. I have the original purchase papers and title. Vehicle is sold as-is, no warranties either express or implied. Please email me or call (908-850-9450) with any questions. Thank you.
