Vehicle Detail

Due to a deadbeat zero feedback bidder who thought it would be fun to outbid the legitimate ebayers and then fail to complete the sale, I am listing this car once more. This time there is a flat Buy it Now Price. I have over $16,000 in this car and wan't to get back a little less than half my investment. Buy it now and avoid losing it to someone else later this week. NOTE: If you have zero feedback don't even think of bidding. I will cancel your bid! Up for auction is my 1948 Dodge Club Coupe. With the exception of the engine, which is the straight six and recently tuned, all the mechanicals have either been rebuilt or replaced (brakes, brake lines, emergency brake, wheel bearings, shocks, exhaust, gas tank, fuel pump, oil pump, water pump and fuel sending unit, etc.) It is still the original 6 volt system. Paint is two years old and shines bright. A couple of small bubbles developing but nothing to take away from the overall clean appearance. All new interior to include seats and padding, headliner, sun visors, carpet, door panels and steering wheel. The dash is original and all the gauges work, including the blower motor for the heater. Every piece of chrome; bumpers, bumper guards, hood ornament, door handles, gas cap, trunk handle and side trim pieces have been either rechromed or replaced. She comes with the much desired sun visor and has working wipers. The mileage listed is 7,820 and I think we can assume it is actually 107,820. That comes out to about 1,685 miles a year. This model is equipped with Chrysler's Fluid Drive transmission. It can be either driven as a three speed on the column or you can leave it in high (3rd gear) and drive it as a automatic. Come to a traffic light and apply the brake and never have to touch the clutch. It has a push button ignition located on the left side of the dash. Turn the key on and press the ignition button and she fires right up. Both doors lock as well as the trunk handle and I have the keys to all three. Also included is a brand new after-market, period correct turn signal assembly. In addition I am including an option that attaches to the center windshield molding that acts as a type of periscope with mirrors that allows you to see the traffic lights under the sun shade without having to lean forward and look up. (Not sure if I explained that clearly enough, but makes seeing the traffic lights when stopped much easier). A dependable and fun car to drive. NADA lists the value at $14K. The passenger door glass is cracked but it's flat glass and easy to replace. The chrome around the passenger's vent window is showing some rust. The car is a real head-turner just as she sits and always attracts attention wherever I go. Drive her as she is or drop in a small block and make her an awesome street rod. Bid to win this beautiful piece of history. Please feel free to ask any questions before bidding and I will do my best to get right back to you with an answer. A $500 non-refundable deposit is required within 24 hours of the auction's end and the balance is due within 7 days. Remember, a bid is a binding contract and I don't take this process lightly. Payment in certified check or cash upon pickup. Winner is responsible for shipping but I will be more than happy to assist with the loading. Car is being sold As-Is, Where-Is, without any warranty expressed or implied. ,On Apr-15-12 at 10:17:41 PDT, seller added the following information: I don't know what happened to the listing since I had a Buy It Now price entered. Will check with ebay to see where that went. Anyway, the Buy It Now price is $8,000. First person to offer that amount wins the car. Sorry for the confusion. On Apr-16-12 at 07:27:10 PDT, seller added the following information: 04/16/12 As you can see from my previous entry on 04/15/12, the Buy It Now option disappeared from the listing once the first bid was made and now there is no reserve. Rather than cancel the auction and relist with a reserve I am going to stand by my original intent and sell this car to the first legitimate buyer to offer $8000. I am optimistic that the bidding will reach that number. That said, I would caution any bidders that as the bids approach the $8000 mark not to wait until the last moments to make their final offer. First $8000 bid wins the car. If someone decides to buy at that amount send me an email and I will send you an invoice for the $500 non-refundable deposit. Once the deposit is received I will end the auction and the car is yours. I apologize for all the entries and explanations, but I made mistakes listing this car and want to make sure everyone knows how this will work. Please contact me if you have any questions or need any additional information. Thank you, Patrick.
