I must sell our 1978 Westfalia, we sold our barn and this little lady must find a new home.A lot of was done just last spring (about 200 miles ago) .(the next thing on the list is a new canvas top -you- can get here on ebay) the top has rips as seen in photos This camper bus has lived inside for the past 20 plus years.I can't let her sit outside all year long it is killing me. I'll let you know the major questions have been about rust and the interior.But yes it is a stick with a four speed transmission.The engine/ trans is original with 126,000 we are the second family to own her.The only thing that did not work was the gas gauge and after 8 years of us having it we got it fixed last summer.We also had a tune up, fuel lines and a new fuel injector just put in. (a friend made a comment that a cylinder sounded off, but I never heard it)And the brakes plus transmission were looked over and passed by a mechanic in 2011 before being parked.And like I said our local vw specialist said she's good to go for the next summer. This is a driver and not a show car by any means. But a platform for restoration.The only showing rust problem is in the door jam a hole about 1.25 inches.Under the windows have the same light rusting as the engine compartment in photos. This bus has had body work around the doors ( my guess is in the late 80s)The older restoration it is showing it's age. The interior is ok just 3 very old cigarette spots no rips or repairs.The front seats are not in the best shape and could use new padding.In the past 8 years I've owned her she has been as far as New York City and Tenn. We live in such a play land around us we used it for weekends in the woods and day trips to beaches.(She drives like a bus not a jetta)You should be able to drive away, since it has not been driven since last fall I would jump in and drive over 50 miles.It many need some shake out time. All the parts a there to make this a great play car.We need to find her a new home after all the love and joy it has given to us, my kids are heart broken to see her go. But we sold our pole barn and she is sitting outside for the 1st time since the early 90s. And I can't have that on my watch with her. Thank you, some other answers...this is the standard westfalia without the stove but has the sink.Lights work, the turn signals are hit and miss (a new quirk this spring)none of the rarer items like the stool or the hammock.just the main table it had a rear screen but that needs to be mended.all the other parts are there, my kids broke to handles off two cabinets but I've got brand new replacements that will go with bus any questions email... I will try to answer..... winner should make a downpayment with me with in 3 days or it will be relisted on day 4I will work with buyer to ship out, but at no cost to me. I have the right to end the auction at anytime due to local sale or other reason
