Vehicle Detail
Hi ,and thanks for viewing my listing. What I have for sale is my 1995 geo metro.Let me give you some information about this car.I bought this car quite some time age and stored it in my garage. The A-arm support was starting to go bad on the passenger side.It never came apart although it had a hole in it.Somewhere along the line I needed a motor for the metro that I run every day.So I took the motor from the 95 and put it in my daily driver. While I had the motor out I welded up the bad A-arm,and eventually put my motor into the 95 after replacing rings and rod bearings along with gaskets ect.So this 95 has a good motor now.I have only driven a few miles with the new motor in it. It shifts real good, dozen,t smoke, and sounds good.I did do some body work to the rockers and a few other spots.I also tried to get some good pictures under and around the doors to show how solid they are, which is unusual for a metro this age.The glass is all good, and the windows go up and down without any problems which is quite rare if you know Metros. Also I repaired the brake lines and had the gas tank down and repaired the fuel lines.I also put a new factory gas filter on it.The interior is in pretty good shape, with these exceptions, the headliner is saving and the dash was repainted, because it was faded. The radio works.Heater works. It has no air conditioning this was a base model and about MPGs. Although I have done a lot of work to get this car back on the road, there are a few things that still need done.I am selling it as is so someone with a little minor skills can complete the work and have a pretty nice fuel efficient car.I drove the car up and down the road today, and the front brakes stuck on some, probably from not being used for awhile. The calipers are holding up some.I checked and the shoes are real good.It may clear up after it is run a while or it may need new calipers. The exhaust will need to be replaced from about halfway back to and including muffler. The tires all hold air and have some tred but I did see some cracks, meaning they will need replaced sometime soon.I did change oil and filter along with timing belt. Would the car drive cross country probably, but best bet would be to dolly it if going long distance or ship it.Thats about it,and if I think of anything else I will add it later.I don't know what gas cost where you live but here it's about 4.00 per gal.and I can assure you if I didn't have another 3 cyl.5 speed metro to run I would never consider selling this one. They are getting harder to find and they haven't made any for over 10 years. Why?? I don't know.My budy who overhauls these little 3 cylinder motors says they are real good motors well built.Every time I see a commercial depicting a company that is proud to announce their new car that gets 30-35-even up to 40mpg I think...Keep working at it and some day you may reach the MPG of a classic 3cyl 5 speed metro.that you do not have to sell your house to buy. Thanks for looking and if you have any questions call me at 814-746-1263 thanks Marty
