Vehicle Detail
This is your opportunity to purchase one of the finest MGB GT's on the market. If you are like me, your search has resulted in painted over rust, mouse droppings in the interior, leaking engines, transmissions that fail to shift and clutches that are non-existant. Your search has now ended! My MGB GT is british racing green with a tan interior( Autumn Leaf) and it is in show quality. Everthing works, the exterior paint is in perfect condition as is the interior. It starts immediately, no holes in the muffler and it brakes correctly and shifts as if the clutch and transmission were new. Very few GT's came with air conditioning as it was a dealer add on at the time. Most that I looked at in the past were missing the compressor, needed a charge or were sloppy installations. As you can see by the pictures, this a/c unit fits perfectly and most of all....it works! The GT's original paint was stripped to bare metal with windows out, doors and chrome off a couple of years ago prior to my purchase. It is beautiful. No ripples, no rust and no dings. There are a couple of minor chips that I can't pick up with the camera and you probably can't pick out unless I showed them to you. The floors are in excellent original condition as are the sills, fenders and rocker panels. The interior has also been restored to like new condition. All gauges work, all electrics work and the dash has no cracks. The seats are comfortable with no repairs or rips. The tires still have 90% of the rubber and the front end tracks straight and true. Shocks are like new as are the Rostyle wheels. Recently, a new brake master cylinder, clutch master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder and new steering rack boot were installed. The plugs, coil, condenser, plugs, wires and valve cover gasket are also newly installed. Oil pressure is 75 psi which is an indication of the engine quality. No drips, no smoke and no burning of oil. The electric overdrive on the transmission works and the GT cruises at current highway speeds. If you look closely at the engine you will see how well detailed it is and you will also see the additional oil cooler. I don't want to mislead you. This is not a concours quality GT, however with a bit more loving care, you can take it from high show quality to a concours level. Forget about buying the $12-15,000 GT that still needs work. You cannot take one of those GT's and make it the quality that this one is for the difference in the price. Have you priced a show quality paint job recently? Or a new interior? I looked for a long time before this purchase. Note that Connecticut is a non title state for vehicles over 25 years of age. You will receive a notarized CT bill of sale and a clear title from the previous owner. Your DMV will review the vin and the title prior to registration. Show season is right around the corner. If you want to win the trophies and get all the thumbs up from your fellow MGB club members, buy my MGB GT. Before you bid.....please get an approval from you significant other, have the cash on hand, ask your banker and accountant if it is ok and if you have a business partner...get their approval. Don't bid unless you can purchase and can follow through with the payment. I have sold several cars on ebay and believe it is best to describe the car as it is. This is a no disappointment MGB GT. Good luck.
