2001 Ford Escape XLS - 4x4 - 6 Cylinder - Automatic - 159,174 Miles This truck goes to the highest bidder! NO RESERVE!! NO BUY IT NOW!! NO TRADES!! PLEASE DON'T ASK!! Runs and drives but it does need some work. Tires are a little worn and may or may not pass inspection. I did not pull a wheel , so assume it needs brakes. Motor is responsive when driving but I can hear a major "vacuum sucking" sound near the E G R valve. No major leaks or smoking, but it does have a misfire at idle and a noise coming from the fan belt area. Does NOT sound like an internal motor noise. The "Check Engine" light is on. You are purchasing this truck in "As Is" condition. We drove this vehicle about 8 - 10 miles without any problems. You should be able to drive it home without breakdown , but no guarantees. As you can see the body is nice and interior is very good. (Needs a good clean up.) The 4 wheel drive light goes on when switched to 4 wheel drive so I believe the 4x4 works. New York residents are unable to bid or buy unless they are a registered car dealer, registering/re-titling the vehicle out of state or are using it for “Parts Only”. When a car is sold as “Parts Only’ or “Salvage” it must pass a NY State “Salvage Inspection”. This is done to keep rebuilt wrecks that are unsafe off the road – especially vehicles with frame damage or airbag deployment. My cars are rarely rebuildable wrecks and therefore will pass this strict inspection process when the problem that is advertised is corrected. There are about 10 to 15 NY State salvage inspection sites in NY State – 2 or 3 are on Long Island and there are a couple in NY City. Call me for further clarification. As a registered NY State dealer I am unable to sell a car that won’t pass inspection to a NY State resident. Anyone else can bid and buy.
