Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 2003 Saleen Mustang Convertible S-281 SC. This is the entire package for all of you Mustang enthusiasts and rare car collectors. This is #136 of only 1000 Saleen Mustangs made in 2003. Manufactured in California, Saleen was just celebrating its 20th anniversary and made several upgrades to their suspension, transmission, engine, brakes, and wheels for this model year. This Stang comes with all of the Saleen badging, windshield decal, and serial numbers for the S-281 Saleen package. It is a beautiful royal blue with grey leather interior with the signature Saleen stitching on the flawless interior. This vehicle was purchased by me in 2011 as an investment and I never registered the car therefor it is a ONE OWNER GEORGIA TITLE VEHICLE!!! I purchased it from the original owner out of Georgia and had the vehicle shipped and I bought it with 2,800 miles. When I got the car it had 4 dry rotted run flat tires and a weathered top from sitting. I replaced the tires with the correct Michelin tires per the manufacturer’s specs at a cost of $1,500. I had a mechanic go over the entire car inside and out and had it checked by the best local speed shop in CT. I replaced the original exhaust with a flow master X-pipe made specifically for this Saleen Mustang (car is so low to the ground it requires a low profile exhaust) and I completely restored the original convertible top using all of the best quality treatments. I will include the original stainless steel pipes with the sale and all of my documentation. It is a 5 speed car with the 4.6 liter engine with the upgraded Saleen Series IV twin-screw Whipple SUPERCHARGER (SC). Also included in this edition was a special intake manifold, water-to-air intercooler, a specially calibrated engine management system, and larger fuel injectors. The base price of the S281-SC convertible version was over $50,000 with taxes and dealer fees. NADA places the retail on this car between $25-$31 k. This vehicle has the original factory chalk all over the rubber hoses. The manufacture specs say 290 horses from the factory - plus 100 horses for the supercharger – plus about 15 extra horses for the X-pipe - for a total of 405 ready to ride topless ponies. It sounds and runs ridiculous!! The car has been buffed 3 times by a professional and hand waxed 2 times by me. I kept it in a garage with a cover at all times. This Saleen has every option available including power seat, heated rear view glass window, cruise, Saleen Mustang floor mats, Saleen body kit and monster Chrome Saleen rims. The original owner was an adult male who changed out the original radio when he purchased the car new in 2003 and promptly installed a custom made Pioneer CD stereo with remote and two power amps in the trunk and custom speakers all around. The system was customized by “Hi-Fi Buys” and actually lights up with fiber optics. It is extremely tastefully done and shows on the car well. I still don’t know how to work it and it literally stores inside the center on some crazy motor. The original owner stated that the system was $10,000 and I have shown the system to several tech people who confirmed that it was all of that! I have the original car fax when I purchased the car confirming the mileage and no accident or repair history. I have receipts for the tires and balance, and X-pipe purchase and install. I have both original keys and 2 working key fobs. Only thing I am missing is the original window sticker. I have the original Georgia title in hand. I need to sell quickly for some cash for another investment. The car runs and looks mint and turns heads everywhere!!! It has only some minor road pebble nicks and a minor paint flaw on the left lower rear fender well where one of the run flat tires must have had a slow leak and faded some of the paint. It is hardly noticeable. It shows exactly how it should for a car with 5,800 original miles should (I drove it on temp tags during the summer). I have included several pictures showing everything I have described. There will be no disappointments here and the car needs nothing! I own the car for almost $30 k. I will sacrifice to the first legitimate buyer for $24,500. I can help with shipping if necessary and you can e-mail me with questions at cwib6@sbcglobal.net Chris
