Vehicle Detail

1989 Mustang GT. 204k miles. Possible blown head gasket. The last time I drove the car it was missing badly. It never got hot, but has in the past in traffic. It had a valve job done previously at 70k miles due to a blown head gasket. Also, the transmission was completely replaced at the local Ford dealer with a brand new OEM transmission at 65k miles. I have owned this car for the last 19 years(with the exception of 10 months when I sold the car, and then bought it back) and have used it as a daily commuter during that time. I believe that I am the second and the fourth owner. It has been adult owned and not raced or abused and is completely stock. I really hate to sell this car, but I also have another 1989 that has 70k miles that is an automatic and is easier for my wife and daughter to drive. I just had the windows tinted, and just put the turbine wheels from the other mustang on this car, so they are in great shape. The tires have at least 50% of their tread life left. This car has absolutely zero rust issues as it is a California car. By the pictures you can see that the paint looks good. There are a few nicks on the bumper cover corners, but nothing much. There is a small dent on the hood and left front fender top from where our neighborhood tree squirrel dropped a pine cone or two on it. The front seats are in great shape, but come from a convertible, so the tweed pattern doesn't exactly match the rear seats, but the main color is identical, and you would have to point out the difference for most people to notice. The stock cassette was replaced with an Alpine CD player which works good. Both of the visors suffer from the normal issue that comes with the lighted visor in these mustangs. The headliner has some mild scuffs as do the visors. The front right turn light has a chip in the bottom of it, but it doesn't have any condensation in it. Both of the rear taillights have a chip in the top of them that is covered by the hatchback and is only visible when it is opened. The rear carpet that folds up the back seats is worn at the edges, but otherwise is in good shape. The rest of the carpeting is in good shape as I have always used floor mats in the car. The heater is bypassed, as the heater core started leaking, but here in California, it isn't really needed, so I never fixed it. Also thee battery shown does not go with the car. It does not have one. The car has a Draw titelow profile trailer hitch and ball mount(see photo of the rear of the car). I have never seen another mustang have one of these. If you want to get attention, pull up to the launch ramp with your boat and see what happens! The bottom line here is that this a great car that I have enjoyed over the years. With a bit of work you can enjoy it for years too. If you have any questions please call and leave a message on my cell: (909) 838-0315- George This car is going to need to be towed.
