Relisting due to non payment. Please do not bid on the car if you do not intend to purchase it. 1983 Ford Mustang GLX 5.0 Convertible. 43,418 miles. 95% original car. I'll start with the minor flaws first. The top was replaced, they decided to leave the original Carlite rear glass in place. You can see in the pictures it has some separation at the glass. The top itself is new. The driver side lower seat cushion split the seem. The stitching just let go. The rest of the seat is in excellent shape. It does appear that at one point it had a battery problem,as there is signs of repair/paint under the hood above the battery. The car does have paint defects. It is the original 29 year old paint on the car. It has chips, some minor minor dings, and imperfections. The car was driven. This was not a garage queen. It shows well, gets complimented all the time. The AC would need a recharge at this point to work Now for the good part This car is a time warp. This is a 95% original car, rust free car. 1983 was the first year for a Mustang convertible to be offered after a 10 year absence. The car is in excellent condition. The GLX was the "high end" Mustang at the time, it was offered before the GT was available. This particular GLX is fully loaded. It has almost every option one could order in 1983 including power windows, power locks, tilt steering column, cruise control, A/C, and premium sound. The car is 95% original. The later 10 hole wheels, true dual exhaust (retains original exhaust manifolds), aftermarket stereo and convertible top are the only items not original to the car. This car has 98% of its original paint still on it. The only spot that has any repair work done is around the decklid lock cylinder. I tried to show it as best as I can in the pictures. You really have to look for it to notice it. The original hand painted red pin stripping is still on the car as well. Overall this vehicle is in excellent condition. Perfect for someone who is looking to get into a low mileage future collectable at an affordable cost. In my opinion this is the best color combination they offered back in 1983 The car runs and drives well, the clutch is smooth, the transmission does not grind. The tires are in excellent condition as are the rims. Brakes are good. Get in the car and drive it. The doors open and close as they should. The power convertible top works as it should The interior of this car is almost flawless. The previous owner did install new black carpet. The dash is crack free, the door panels are straight and not warped. Im not sure if anyone has sat in the rear seat. The gauge cluster lens has a small crack across the alternator gauge. The exhaust was done nicely at one point. It does have an Hpipe in it. There are no catalytic convertors in the car. It has regular mufflers on it. It has a nice sound, not too load, but you can hear it a little. Great for cruising with the top down. Overall this is a very nice example of a very original car. This is a perfect vehicle for someone who is looking to get a low mileage collectable vehicle at a realistic price.
