The rear suspension utilizes a VW swingaxle tranny built by Rancho Performance Tranxles with stock drum brakes and custom valved Bilstein shocks. DRD racing of Santa Ana built a 2276cc engine with new valves, custom cam, bearings, porting, a Porsche 911 fan shroud and dual weber 48IDA carbs reaching 195hp and 178 ft lbs torque.. An Auto Meter Ultra Light 10,000 rpm tachometer monitors the engine and an Auto meter Pro Light monitors the shift points. A removable chrome 3 point roll bar enhances the interior along with black vinyl seats, custom shifter, Nardi wood steering wheel and Simpson 4-point cam lock seat belts.
