Fly in to any NY area airport and I'll pick you up so you can drive her home! You won't be disappointed! It's finally time to sell my classic 1988 BMW 325ic convertible. I'm the second owner and have lovingly cared for this car for most of its life. Driven daily during the warmer months, dependability has been essential for me. This car runs and drives better than new. Excellent condition examples of these classic BMW's are scarce, especially those with heated sport leather seats and the coveted six cylinder performance engines like this car has. She's easy to drive, safe, dependable and always lots of fun. In all fairness, I have the car listed for sale eslewhere and I reserve the right to sell it before the end of this auction if my reserve has not already been met. As you can probably tell by the description below, I'm very particular about this car and have been proactive about maintenance and upgrades. I have decided to sell this car because I've already acquired a much more powerful sports car, one that I have wanted for years and only recently was able to find at a price I could afford. It's no wonder BMW advertised these cars as "The Ultimate Driving Machine", you can't help but have a good time whenever you get behind the wheel. This car would make the perfect graduation gift for a well deserving student or sports star. ENGINE: This car features the 2.5 liter performance 6 cylinder engine and it runs very well. The recent comprehensive tune up included new spark plugs, Bavarian Motorsports performance ignition wires, Continental performance timing belt & idler, German water pump, thermostat and valve job to freshen the engine for another 150k miles. TRANSMISSION: The automatic transmission performs flawlessly. INTERIOR: The leather Recaro style heated front sport seats and rear set were recently reupholstered with the best top grain leather available from www.leatherseats.com at a cost of over $1,500. The front seats feature adjustable leg extensions and are in "like new" condition . These heated seats feature high/low switch control for comfort during those top down spring and autumn rides when the air is crisp. On high, the seats get so warm that they'll roast your bottom if you're not careful. I often drive with the top down, heat blasting and seats warm during cooler spring and fall evenings. What an exhilarating experience. The carpets are clean and the car includes a young set of Bavarian Motorsports custom floor mats. The dash is in excellent condition with no cracks. The factory trip computer still works properly. The sound system includes a Pioneer four channel CD/stereo with 35 wattsx4 channels. Speakers are manufactured by Polk Audio http://www.polkaudio.com/. This stereo sounds great while you're cruising down the road with the top down. PAINT AND BODY: The body is in exceptional shape. You can see yourself in the brilliant red paint which is in excellent condition. Brand new high quality convertible top with Sonnendeck OEM fabric and green tinted green window with five year warranty. Works perfectly and the rear window is perfectly clear. Installed November 2011 at a cost of nearly $2,000. WHEELS AND TIRES: The original BBS style basket weave wheels and performance tires were replaced with beautiful Mille Miglia 1000 16" wheels fitted with performance tires which are in good condition. This combination significantly improved handling over the factory wheels and tires. The original BBS style wheels and a good set of sport tires are optional or the winning bidder can have them instead of the Mille Miglia wheels/tires. ELECTRICAL AND ACCESSORIES: The air conditioning system works great and blows cold. The power windows and mirrors function properly. The convertible top is manual (no motor to fail) and it works properly. Recently installed Diehard European battery with warranty. Fog lights in good condition. Euro style flat Hella headlights with high output bulbs and high output brake light bulbs. Full featured factory trip computer EXHAUST: The Pacesetter Monza performance exhaust system cost over $1,000. According to Pacesetter, the exhaust flow of an engine has a direct effect on its performance. MONZA Performance Exhaust Systems utilize the right combination of larger than-stock, 16-gauge, mandrel-bent tubing and low back-pressure, high-flow performance mufflers for cooler, smoother engine operation and increased performance. Each system uses corrosion-resistant aluminized steel and features chrome-plated T304 Stainless Steel MONZA Premium Chrome Exhaust Tips. The finish is a durable black paint. SUSPENSION AND BRAKES: Recently installed Tokico sport struts and shocks to improve handling performance above and beyond the excellent original ride. Not too soft or stiff, just right. When the new struts and shocks were installed, the factory rear springs were retained, but the front springs were upgraded to slightly lower the front and firm up the front suspension. Front control arms and ball joints were replaced at the BMW suggested service interval and the bushings in the front suspension were upgraded to M3 components at the same time. The brake system includes four wheel ABS for safety, drilled performance rotors, braided stainless steel performance brake lines and recently installed brake pads at all four corners. The brakes are firm and very responsive as they should be. ACCIDENTS: Only one incident about two years ago when my car was it in the parking lot of my favorite service center. The body panel immediately behind the driver's door was dented slightly and the trim was bent. My car was brushed by another driver parking in the adjacent space. I reported the accident since it was his fault and his insurance company paid for the repair. I had the car buffed out when the repairs were made. It is impossible to find evidence of this repair. We very (very) strongly recommend that the buyer have the vehicle inspected prior to purchase to his or her complete satisfaction. As a matter of fact, I will not sell to an out of state person without having someone inspect the vehicle. I do that for your protection. TERMS OF SALE (or the FINE PRINT !!)
