Vehicle Detail
SUPER FAST GT2! This will be a bit long-winded but I've got the time and I want you to know EVERYTHING I know about this beautiful automobile. It's for sale by a near-sixty year old grandpa geezer who has finally tired of the conquest of hunting for the best sports car. I've done the RX-7, Corvette (C-2, C-5, 427 big block), Z-car (240, 300, 350-twice), Mercedes (560SL), and Porsche (924, 911 turbo, and THIS one). I mention that only to give credence to the following statement: This is the ultimate sports car--a MAN'S car. A couple of years ago, I bought this car. I had read that there were only 234 built and that MSRP was around $190,000 and that it came off the lot capable of going 192 mph and that it does 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds and that the ceramic composite brakes cost over $8000 and that the "little" 6-cylinder turbo-charged engine generates 456 horsepower. Some of that may be off but that's what I remember--you do the research this time. I found the car at a Florida Lamborgini outfit and bought it over the Internet. When they shipped it out they dented the roof but I wanted the car and had it fixed. It had around 9500 miles on it. I've put on the rest. NO wreck. NO track. I've done a few quick starts but the years have slowed me down and calmed my "need for speed". AND it gets way better mpg than my daily drivers (Jeep and truck). Just today I went 311 miles of highway and in-town driving and got 24.5 mpg (see photo). Quality, speed, look, and efficiency! It's got it all. People like to look at this car. It has a superb presence and a classic 911 Turbo stance. It has the 6-speed manual that shifts beautifully. The leather interior is practically flawless and has YELLOW contrast stitching and matching safety belts. There is CARBON FIBER ($$) everywhere--door sills, console, stick shift, dash area, doors, etc. The CD/AM/FM works great and the AC blows COLD. There is a trip computer and other monitoring systems off the steering column. ALL the carpet is excellent though the front Porsche floor mats are a bit worn. The Porsche Crest is in both front bucket seats. There is a retractable double drink holder off the front dash, a locking console, door compartments, glove box, map lights, lighted vanity mirrors, Xenon lights, alcantera suede roof liner, power mirrors/seats/windows, remote trunk/hood/gas release. Rubber is good and all wheels are original GT2's and look fine. I had a routine service in July 2011 at the Albuquerque Porsche Dealership at 12,600 miles. There has NEVER been a mechanical issue. NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER. It is a superb running machine. Tight, quick, reliable, and a joy to drive. I have the previous owner's service encounter from 2007 (6921 miles). Original books and two keys go with the car. The car has an upgraded exhaust system by the original owner. The specialist here says it's about a $1200-1500 upgrade. It sounds a little louder than stock and huummmmssssss pretty at higher speeds. I would hope it gives a performance improvement too but I don't know. This car is a 2003 and it has a few chips, scratches, and a minor ding (rear right fender). Also, when cleaning it today I saw a hairline separation of the paint on the back edge of the spoiler on the left (see photo). This ain't NASCAR and I don't think it affects down force too much. Probably a little glue and some touch up is all it needs. Inside the cabin, the carbon fiber upgrades are in super condition but there are two areas--on right and on left to side of dash (photo) that are curled. Left is cracked. (I'm told that it can be heated and reglued--don't know for sure.) The pricing of the car reflects consideration of imperfections listed and any I may have missed. I try to disclose all with writing and photos. No secrets here. I want you to love the car and be happy. The car is at my place in the mountains--in enclosed garage--80 miles from my home in Roswell and always on the trickle charger. Pricing is BELOW trade-in and priced to SELL. NO trades--remember, I'm trying to downsize. Reserve NOT disclosed so don't ask, please. NOTE: It's Rear Wheel Drive, not ALL Wheel. Can't seem to change it in the listing... On Mar-27-12 at 20:15:11 PDT, seller added the following information: NOTE: NO test drives by the buyer until the buyer has paid for the car in full. Thanks.
