This is a 1965 Mercury Comet Caliente, 2 door hadtop. It is in need of a complete restoration. The previous owner claimed it would crank and run with a battery and gas in a can. Overall the body is in good condition, with all chrome and stainless trim in place. It has factory bucket seats with a center console, and factory air conditioning. The drive train is an inline six with a three speed column shift transmission. Both bumpers will need replating or replacing. The floors and toe boards need replacing, as does the trunk floor and gas tank. The only rust I see on the exterior panels is in the right rear quarter panel, and a small place on the sail panel. I understand that the platform and mechanicals for this model is shared with Mustangs and Falcons of the same period.
