This auction is for a 1997 F-450 Super Duty 1-1/2 ton dump truck. It runs smooth and is in great working condition and will pull a house down. it isnt a show truck but it is a very good truck, It has 4 wheel disk brakes, cold a/c and an automatic transmission; it is set up for a Reese hitch and is ready to work. We used this truck for about a year to haul recycle from two local towns and we had to replace it with a much larger vehicle that could hold more. the bed has a divider that can be installed in minutes to make 2 separate compartments. This truck has a 7.5 (460) gas engine and the previous owner replaced the 4 speed with a C-6, 3 speed automatic-transmission what ever they did works good Ive hauled 5 tons of gravel in this truck and its a little tank! top speed is around 70 mph its geared low; The engine is real good it does not smoke or leak! The body has a few dings but over all it still looks great for a dump truck! There are two fuel tanks and both are operable but the gauge only works for one of them so we would normally fill both and use all of the gas out of the tank that doesn’t read and then switch to the one that does. Each tank hold 18 gallons. The brakes are 4 wheel disk and where just replaced the whole way around the truck about two months ago, the front suspension damper was replaced a few months ago also, a dash mount oil gauge has been added, the front tires were just replaced with firestones and the rear tires have 1/2 to 3/4 tread left, the muffler is also new, the belts and hoses were just checked and are in good shape, and the radio is nice and loud! I would not be afraid to drive the truck anywhere, it’s also very comfortable! The bed is electric over hydraulic and can lift 5 tons (that’s the most I’ve dumped out and it did it easy! ) and is multi functional, There is a custom made divider that goes with this truck it mounts in the center of the bed and is hinged with pins at the bottom and top on both sides, it can be removed or swung out of the way in seconds. Keep in mind this divider was intended for separating paper and cardboard, gravel or stone may be too heavy and the divider should be removed before hauling such. The size of the bed is 10ft long x 7’.6 wide x 46 in tall. The tailgate is also multi functional as well; it opens and closes two different ways, its a spreader gate and a lift gate "see pics" (#1) it will open and close like a pickup truck (only larger) and then raise and lower with up to 3000 lbs on it. (I picked up the front of my wife’s 05 Galant with no problem!) (#2) there is a second swing gate in the middle of the lift gate for spreading stone or gravel.
