1966 BMW R50/2 Motorcycle. 17,000 miles. Semi restored, still some things you could do to make it perfect. Slingers were just cleaned this past winter. New parts include: Wheels, spokes, rims, wheel bearings, tires (Metzlers) & hubcaps New shocks front and back, with new bumper rings and bushings Tapered roller bearings for steering head (replaced the loose ball bearing) Coil, advance mechanism, proper plug caps New Carbs New Mufflers New Denfeld Solo Saddle and hardware Tank professionally coated & new petcock New piston rings and rear main bearing New Clutch plate and pressure spring New paint and pinstriping Lots of other new bits and pieces I rode this bike for a few years, just got another one, so I have to make room. There are some things that need to be addressed. The biggies are that The paint on the top of the gas tank is split, and scratched up (I ran out of gas, had to borrow a can, long story...) The frame is powdercoated, and before it was done, the guy didn't repair the rear top of the shock tower like he said he would. The bike is going to need a tune up, and does leak some oil. However, it never failed to get me where I wanted to go. I took off the side stand (but included in the sale), becuase they are notoriously bad. You will have to adjust the front brake, as I just re-lined the pad, and haven't fine tuned it. The reason for the sale is simple - I got a new toy (in dover white) and I have to make some room/made a promise to my wife.
