Vehicle Detail
1985 Chevrolet IROC Z28 Tuned Port Injection 35,000 original miles This vehicle was originally ordered by a GM Plant employee located in Arlington Texas. During the last interview with the original owner he provided me with the original license plate and pictures from his purchase. His information will be provided at the conclusion of the sale to the highest bidder. He stated that he purchased this vehicle because it was originally said to be alimited production vehicle and only 2000 were to be made. Unfortunately they made 20,000 more. He purchased this car because he thought it would be rare. In 2000-2001 he sold it with only 21,000 miles. I am said to be the fourth owner. I received this car with 31,000 miles on it in December 2011. I have put about 4000 miles on it. I love to drive it and drive it daily. Our family is increasing in size and there is a possible relocation in the future so toys are going to go. Included is the original circa 1985 radar detector he installed. This car is near perfect. The only thing that is not stock is: Exhaust and speakers. Speakers are stock replacements, Exhaust is Magnaflo.Recent service: Trans Governor gear was replaced and the TV valve in the transmission was replaced with a Trans-go piece, otherwise it still has its original plugs and wires. it runs and drives perfectly. A/C was converted to R134A and is ice cold. Tires are like new. It can be driven anywhere. It has new clear coat and needs decals. They are readily available. NO DENTS, SCRAPES, SCRATCHES, NO RUST.Some things to consider when looking for original condition cars. GM did not deliver cars slimed down with silicone spray. Over flow can is typically always dirty because GM put a waxy pellet of stop leak in every car of that period. The GM plant employee that owned this can even verify it that tid bit of info. Key Options: It is the 305 TPI motor rated at 215HP, 3:42 gears (GU6), Gov-Loc (G80) and 4 wheel disc brakes (J65) Overhead console, electric rear hatch release, AM FM Cass EQ, Cruise, Powere drivers seat, Tilt. I have pictured the SPID so you can decipher the rest.Owners manual and all delivery docs included, including warranty, tire warranty, owners manual etc.Door placards/decals show build date to be 2/85.Additional photos can be provided as long as it is reasonable.HISTORY:In 1984, Chevrolet introduced the Camaro IROC-Z/28 for the 1985 model year. The IROC-Z was option B4Z on the option sheet and could only be ordered with the Z/28 option package. This new performance icon boasted skid pad numbers within the range of .90 g. The top offering under the hood was the brand new Tuned Port Injection (TPI) 305 cubic inch V-8, which boasted 215 horsepower and 275 ft/lbs of torque, the most powerful 305 automatic ever offered in an IROC. The IROC (International Race Of Champions) began using the Camaro as the official vehicle. To commemorate this, Chevy made an IROC model for the Camaro. The IROC-Z was option B4Z on the option sheet and could only be ordered with the Z28 option package. The ride height was lower than a standard Z28, and featured performance-calibrated front struts and springs, Bilstein rear shocks and 16 inch aluminum wheels with Goodyear Eagle 245/50/16 tires. This new performance icon boasted skidpad numbers within the range of .90 g. The top offering under the hood was the brand new TPI 305 which boasted 215 horsepower and 275 ft/lbs of torque.
