72 Merceddes Benz 280 SE 4.5 We are proud to offer this beautiful 1972 Mercedes Benz 280 SE 4.5 for sale. Finished in Black exterior with matching Black and Gray vinyl/cloth interior, this car looks really elegant. Its 4.5L V8 engine delivers 224 hp and 278 ft-lbs of torque, with a smooth automatic transmission, both in perfect condition. Mileage reads less than 26,000 miles but we believe it is more than that due to being only a 5 digit odometer, even though it is fully functional. Wheels are original 14" steel with original Mercedes chrome wheel caps with matching black centers fitted with correct for the era white wall tires. Car has gone though a body restoration process where a few little rust spots were fixed and then completely repainted with 2 stage (base/clear) high quality paint. Engine has been tested for compression and it shows an even 110 lbs on all 8 cylinders. Complete tune up done by a vintage Mercedes expert mechanic. Everything is working as it was designed, except for the clock (which we are going to look at it in the next few days). Factory A/C blows ice cold, enough even for Miami's hot weather. All lights, interior and exterior, are in good perfect condition and a new battery has been installed. Car drives like a gem. Body is solid with no strange noises or rattles. Car has a clean title.
