If you have seen this bike before, it is because my high bidder last time wanted to trade me another bike. Please no trades and don't bid unless you really want the bike. This is a 2001 BMW RT P, The P stands for Police, and the police edition has extras, Look it up on the net for a fun distraction at work or home. This bike was bought in Albuquerque New Mexico. It has a clean title and the title states that it has 9000 miles. I think this bike may have been used for training as it seems like it has more than 9000 miles. It is also likely that the ODO was swapped out however the bike and the title do read 9000 miles. If you have the time Albuquerque police department may be able to verify with the Vin that is in this ad. When I got the bike it would not run, ends up it was a fuel pump, and a fuel line hooked up wrong. I fixed both of them and She starts right up and purrs now. Bike also stops, and shifts well. She does all the things a good bike should. Me personally I like the heated grips. I have come to love BMW's because of how far they will go before needing major work.. BMW bikes will go 100k to 200k with normal maintenance. I have had a-lot of bikes, and I know of no other brand that is as reliable. This bike needs a few things it needs mirrors and a tail light lens to go down the road again. Also one of the saddle bags has lost it locking ability and needs new hardware. A front tire would be a good Idea. It also needs the mirrors. All of these Items can be found on ebay or sites like ( the beemer bone yard ) The seat has tape on it, and the windshield does not move up and down, (probably a fuse) The bike needs a little tlc. I am big on full discloser so ask any questions and I will answer as soon as I can. This is a good running bike mechanically it is sound. This will make some one a great touring bike.
