Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a LT230S Suzuki Quadsport in really good mechanical condition and it still looks really good too. This thing has been kept indoors for most of it's life so the seat and plastic aren't faded out. I will get the only problem it has out of the way right away. It won't idle. under a load, wide open, basically any time that you are on the gas, or off of idle, it runs fine. No, it's not a matter of setting the idle up higher. It's like it is not getting fuel. This problem occured about two years ago when I went to ride it after the Winter. I have ridden it several times since then but it just won't come out of it. I am not exactly a mechanic so I am not tearing into it. Everyone tells me it's no big deal to fix but I have no takers on fixing it for me! One thing that I have to say is before this problem occured, it would start immediately, set and idle like a new car, and run outstanding. I have no reason to believe that it wouldn't run like that again if this problem was corrected. I believe it still has the original front tires and it was popular back in the late 80's to put the "wooley booger" type tires on the back. All of the plastic and the seat are original. The tires hold air with absolutely no leaks and the motor has good compression. There are a couple of small tears and a small hole in the seat that can be seen from all of the pictures. I put a new o-ring chain and a new sprocket and driver on it about five years ago and it probably has literally ten to twenty hours on it. I put a new throttle cable on it at the same time. It smokes some when you first start it up but not bad. This thing has unbelievable power throughout the entire rpm range for a 230cc ATV. If you are bidding on this thing I'm sure you know what you are bidding on. This is not the junk one with the automatic transmission. This is the one with the clutch. With the short wheel base this is the ultimate trail four wheeler. I can guarantee you from experience that it will run away from Banshees in the woods in hare scrambles. They are going to get away from you on the long straightaways but they cannot run with it in the trails. BTW, that DG pipe is LOUD. If this thing is not exactly what I say it is when you pick it up, then you don't own it. Just drive away and I will sell it again. I have had this thing for a long time, (about ten years), and I am getting a little old for it. I am seriously in the market for a cheap, "old man four wheeler". (four wheel drive with racks on front and back, starts good and no kick start). When I purchased this thing, it was owned by a mechanic at an ATV dealership in the Kansas City area. He had recently went through the engine giving it a complete overhaul. I believe he told me it had been bored out and he simply put in a new piston, rings, bearings, and gaskets and had not done anything else. I have not exactly ran the heck out of it being an adult but I do know that it will run. Like I said above, it does smoke a little when you start it but it sure doesn't affect the way it runs. I have never put a spark plug in it or anything. (Just hit me that that isn't helping my problem) But anyway, bid with confidence. I sell a LOT of items on here and depend on ebay for a lot of income and I would not jeopardize that to get rid of a junk four wheeler. This thing is absolutely what I say it is. Suzuki 230 Quadsport 1986 Good to great shape Needs a good carburetor man to make this thing perfect. Thanks, AlanOn Mar-15-12 at 07:42:26 PDT, seller added the following information: I priced having this thing shipped. It has to be on a skid, and a plywood crate made around it. I have skids and can handle that with about $40.00 worth of plywood. I priced shipping it to Maine. (that was about as far away as you can get.) The shipping was going to be about $430.00. Half of the distance doesn't mean half the price in the shipping world, but it WILL be less. If Maine is going to be $470.00, I am going to say Alabama is going to be in the $300.00 to $350.00 range. I will get you a price after the auction is over but this is as close as I can get for right now. I ship a lot of items by truck. Four wheelers are an expensive class to ship and I don't know why. Thanks, Alan
