Here is the car everyone wants. 1978 true y82 SE (Special Edition) Trans Am. Thanks to the Smokey and the Bandit movie I have always wanted one of these cars. I bought this car with the intentions of having it restored by Trans Am Specialties in Florida.(If you win this car and need a restorer I would strongly recommend these guys) But as luck would have it I located a 1977 SE 4 speed in Bolingbrook Il and it is a done car that I can enjoy now. If my pockets were deeper I would have this one finished because when done it will be worth big bucks. About the car, It is a almost rust free car(I know a se trans am how is that possible?) There is a few pin holes in drivers floor pan, rust holes in rear driver side and some bubbling on lower passenger quarter. The rest is rust free, frame rails, rear bumper support, doors, around rear window even the dash where it is usually rusted due to hurst hatches is perfect. trunk floor, doors, door bottoms, fenders, trunk lid all perfect. We all know the most expensive part of restorations is the rust repair. This car is an easy resto. I have shown all the areas in pictures. I do not hide anything in my auctions I strive to show everything and describe everything so there are no surprises. It is a very complete car. The numbers matching engine is in engine bay and as you can see in photos I have the numbers matching 4 speed tranny as well. Have correct carb, shaker complete and not cut up. As you can see driveshaft and exhaust is still on car. Ttops in great condition and factory air is complete. steering wheel in great shape as is all the interior pieces. Car has great options with hurst hatches, tilt wheel air conditioning and 400 engine with 4 speed manual transmission. Look it up only 489 of these made and most are 50,000 restored cars or rusted in half in a pasture. How many easy re-storable ones are there that are complete and almost rust free? i have phs docs proving it is y82 se with options I have described.
