You won't see another 1989 Islander in this fine condition anywhere that still retains its original paint. It has been extremely well kept.This Islander is often mistaken for being a new Jeep. It sports a top-end rebuilt 4.2 liter six cylinder engine, a rebuilt three-speed Automatic transmission, full power steering, power front disc brakes, Posi-Lok 4WD, a gray soft top, five fully restored factory wheels w/new tires. This Islander has been treated to a complete mechanical rebuild of which will be itemized below in the details. This is a very desirable Wrangler YJ Islander Pkg. in prime condition ready for show or go! This 1989 Jeep Islander is turn-key and runs out great. The Details; This 1989 Jeep Wrangler Islander YJ is finished in Malibu Yellow which is its original factory paint and the factory original decals (the hood decal was restored) there is no visible body/chassis rust it has the original Islander spare tire cover. Visible flaws are drivers side front flare has 1” tiny ripple towards front (a new unpainted flare is included), a minor ding on the hood, pass. front fender has few very minor slightly darker spots. It has an arrow straight body and the paint is in excellent original condition. It has restored factory wheels w/five new Enduro A.T radial. The gray softtop was replaced with a "Pavement Ends" flip top and is like new. It has a new windshield, frame and gasket. It has a chrome grill, headlight inserts & chrome hood hold downs. Frame is excellent no issues. It has 1 1/2” Black Diamond lift kit, military wrapped springs, new shocks, stabilizer shock, transfer case lowered to accommodate lift. New front end links, hubs, u-joints, & sway bar bushings, suspension lubricated w/synthetic grease. The interior is excellent. The driver and passenger seat s were replaced with new, rear seat is mint original, grant sport steering wheel, flexi-vent windows controllers for zippered Plexiglas door windows. All the trim, emblems, are in excellent shape as well. The gray convertible soft-top is excellent and there is a Bikini Top w/windbreaker and duster included. This Wrangler is very clean condition and superb thru-out and has never been abused has always been mature adult driven has never been used off road or for winter driving. The Mechanical: The Heart of the Wrangler is its original rebuilt 4.2 liter gas saving six cylinder engine that runs smooth with no issues. The list of mechanical work/rebuilds is impressive: The top-end of the engine was rebuilt including the head, rockers, tappets, push-rods & head gasket were done, the carb was replaced, it had the “Nutter By-Pass”, K&N air filter, manual choke, HEI distributor, wires & spark plugs replaced, fuel pump replaced & fuel filter, Automatic transmission was rebuilt, also flex plate & torque convertor replaced, front & rear pumpkins synthetic gear oil, speedo cable replaced, timing chain, gears, & cover replaced, it has 1 1/2” Black Diamond lift kit, military wrapped springs, new shocks, stabilizer shock, transfer case lowered to accommodate lift, new front end links, hubs, u-joints, & sway bar bushings, suspension lubricated w/synthetic grease, new radiator, new radiator hoses & clamps, also heater hoses & clamps, water pump & coolant replaced, aluminum intake manifold replaced, new fan clutch, new exhaust w/new pipes, cat, muffler, hangers, new brakes, front axle had calipers, rotors, pads, flexible brake lines replaced, rear axle wheel cylinders, springs, adjusters, brake shoes & drums trued, master cylinder replaced, new brake fluid, new heavy duty alternator & belt, headlamps replaced, battery replaced, new starter, i just installed a new "N" valve and it works great and much more. Factory radio works fine but LED indicators do not work, trip odo is not working.
