Well I'm sure no expert on Jeeps, but I ended up with this one, from a friend, who has owned it for the last 20 years or so. This is what I call a "Barn Fresh Find". This CJ3A has sat idle and in a barn for the last 5-10 years. He bought it from a guy, who owned a machine shop, and had recently rebuilt the engine. (just before he bought it). It has its original (rebuilt), 4 cyl flathead engine, with the 3 speed manual transmission. It has a new looking set of good year wrangler tires on it as well. This jeep needs a new windshield, and will need a new battery, as well as fresh gas etc. It is not very rusty for its age. What rust it may have is very minor. He used it for his hunting trips. He was going to replace the water pump, but never got back to it, because of his busy- business schedule. And there it has sat ever since...Idle. He said that this jeep has always been dependable and has always ran fine. It is however, over 62 years old and being sold "as- is". I would much rather you plan for the worst and hope for the best than be dissapointed in any way. I have no doubts, that someone more mechanical than myself, could have it up and running again in very short order. NOTE: If I do not sell it as-is, I will have my mechanic get it running for me, and re-list it that way. My opening bid is 1,850.00 with no reserve. Like I've said... it's not perfect, it's kind of dirty, and won't win any beauty contests, but I can't imagine finding a neater, or more complete, "barn find" CJ3A, for the price. Term of sale I can not ship..... This means I can not crate, box, disassemble, or deliver to a shipping company. I will however be more than happy to assist your shipper, however I can. A $150.00 non-refundable deposit through Pay Pal is required within 48 hours of auction's end. PayPal is acceptable for the deposit only. The balance is due via bank/certified check, or cash in person within 7 days of the auctions end.
