Vehicle Detail
This is a true barn find. The car was last licensed in 1993, so it has been in a garage for 18 years. It is straight with very minor, typical door dings, no rust. It will have a new set of plug wires and plugs and battery. It might need a carbureator adjustment, from sitting, but it drives down the road nicely and the tranny works well. The power steering pump may need new seals, as it was leaking slightly when we pulled it out of the garage, but it seems to be doing better now. The plush, button and tuck leather seats are incredible. The seats are all intact both front and rear, with just a slight seam separation in the top center of the back seat. The door panels are clean and look incredible also. This car has been owned by the same elderly couple since the 80's and it is local to Southwest Missouri. Payment can be made by Paypal or cash in person. If paying by any other method, I will hold the car until payment clears my bank, period! I will deliver up to 200 miles from Springfield Missouri for $2 a loaded mile. The title is in hand.On Feb-20-12 at 17:10:28 PST, seller added the following information: I've been out of town and I will try to answer the questions I have gotten. I have added the photos requested, but for some reason, when I had my son take pics of the doors and dash, I could only get them in black and white. There is an additional photo of the headliner and the outside of the car dry (we had just washed 18 years of dust off it in the others and the photos are a little shinier than the finish) however, as you can see in the dry shot a little polish and a wax job and, cosmetically, this car is exceptional inside and out. The only thing needed is some door rash paint and a couple of maybe dime sized dents from door dings. For a car that is 36+ years and 123,000 miles this car is way better than it should be cosmetically. Here's what I have been able to determine mechanically. The power seats work, the 2 front power windows work, the back passenger power window works, but needs help, the back drivers window did not work. The car just passed Missouri's safety inspection so all the safety equipment (lights, horn, brakes, etc) work. The radio works, the heater and air conditioner both work, but the air conditioner blows cool, not cold air. The dash lights don't come on, maybe a fuse. The gas guage did work, but now shows empty even though it is full. The car runs down the road fine and is a dream to ride in, but, there is a slight miss in the engine, though no engine top or bottom noises. I believe this is what is called a 440 lean burn engine and it has a computer. Maybe a computer module would fix this, so factor that in your bid. The reason I put a low reserve on this car is because I don't know a lot about this engine set up, so factor that in your bid. If it were me, I would put a crate motor in it and have one of the coolest rides on the planet, but I have to sell it so have fun bidding. Someone asked if it would go cross country. The tires are at least 18 years old. They don't look bad at all and are knee deep in rubber, but a few hours at highway speed....who knows, I wouldn't do it. If you want the ultimate 4 door cruiser this is probably your car. Good luck. Oh, and remember the power steering pump will need to have seals put in or replaced.
