1968 GMC PICK UP Short Wheel Base.....Step Side I purchased this truck about a year ago from a young man that needed some money. It sat in the driveway for almost a year while I was finishing other projects. Due to health reasons, I find I just can't finish it....so here it goes. Engine...not sure about mileage but it's a 350 4 bolt main was told it was a fresh rebuild and have no reason to doubt it. ...cam..( sounds like Thumper ) Mallory Unilite w/ Mallory coil. Holley 600 manual choke with quick change vacuum secondary. New plugs and wires. Old style Holley Street Dominator. single plane intake with the "Winters" foundry logo. Motor runs strong...starts every time and sound great...Headers with 3" exhaust and Flowmasters turned down under bed. Power Steering pump and box from 72 chevy as well as a tight no slack steering column from the same donor truck. Fresh 700r4 tranny with the correct kick down carb bracket. Shifts as it should without any issues. New rear main seal.....no drips or leaks of any kind. Dana 44 Rear end with 3:54 gear. Cooper Cobra 255/70 15" tires with Chrome Rallys with Metal Derby Caps. Paint looks good as you can see in the pic's but not perfect. I replaced the windshield and rubber and found no rust issues around the windshield frame. I have replaced all the window rubber and felts with new. Replaced vent windows with two from a 72 donor truck that are good. The Passenger side window crank assembly is new....Driver side replaced from the donor 72 truck. Window roll up and down eeeeasy.....doors close without slamming. Their is some rust inside the passenger door (see pic's) but an easy fix....Drivers door has some rust issues underneath but fixable. Interior presents itself well. Floor pans are solid...It has carpet (aftermarket) The gauges in the panel work including the gas...temp gauge is not hooked up but does have aftermarket on column. Speedo not hooked up... I recovered the dash pad...looks great...It does have K5 Bucket seats with console in 9.5 perfect shape. Really hard to find and very expensive... no radio....heater and wipers work as well as turn signals and lights....horn has not been hooked up to new steering wheel. It came to me with Skull Accents and I did leave then intact....the paint has been freshened up on the interior and looks good. Rockers are good ...cab corners have been worked on but are solid. I have listed pic's and will try to get more detailed ones as soon as I an able. This truck runs and drives well....it has standard breaks but they work fine....stops straight....truck drives down the road good and straight and does not have a mind of it's own so I would say the front end is in good shape. The wheels are 6 lug...Ralleys look good....there is a little rust on them here and there....but look great.... The wood bed needs to be replaced as you can see but I do have the Red Oak slats that are milled for this truck still wrapped in the original packaging that I bought for the truck and will be included in the sale.
