1999 Suzuki tl1000s

Up for sale is my 1999 TL1000S. I have had so much fun owning and riding this bike. I have put so much effort into it in the last couple of years that I hate to part with it, but I am forced to move for my work and we will not have the space for it. This bike is a BEAST! I have done several major improvements in the last couple of years... It started when in 2007 I spun the main bearing as is common with this bike. After some research the guys on TLplanet.com and TLzone.com suggested that I send the crank to Fox performance Racing in CO. for a shave, polish and rebuild. While the crank was there I had it Stage 2, knifed edged, and polished. He also told me about a friend of his who had a big bore kit for sale. This kit was brand new and sitting on his shelf from when they used to race their TL. I purchased it! Well it doesn't stop there as I sent the heads off to have them ported, polished, and rebuilt. Once I had everything back we began the rebuild! Success!!! It was even more than I could have hoped for. The bike handles so much better on curves than did any of my other bikes. I've had a 2004 ZX10R, 2007 Hayabusa, 2008 ZX10R all while owning this bike since 2004, but the TL is by far my favorite. I purchased it from a dealer in FL who got it at auction and it had a certificate of destruction from the state of FL. This occurs when it is wrecked and paid for by an insurance company. However, I did some research and found that it was all cosmetic and that the owner was going through a divorce which played into the bike not being fixed. I bought the bike and had it shipped to me. I rebuilt it and had the frame polished. I rode stock until the bearing spun. The title is a KY rebuilt title. This bike is a must see and will certainly deliver the power you expect from a v-twin. Now here is the current condition... The bike needs some attention as I have not messed with it since the fall. Back in October I began to winterize it and decided to check the tolerances of the tappet clearances. I adjusted them to spec and the bike sat until January where we had some nice weather and I decided to take it out. It started rough and ran fine after warm up. However, I believed it to be due to a faulty mass air flow sensor. I bought a new one and changed it out. No dice. so I moved on to some other common issues with the TL. I even bought the ecm... Still it is not running top notch. I've had the injectors cleaned and tested and gone through most of the trouble shooting that the tech manual says. However, I no longer have the time to devote to resolving this and must part with it before we move. My guess is a short in the wiring harness but thats just a guess as to where to start. With some tlc this could be your dream bike. I have all receipts to validate the work I had done. To date I am out about 6000k in parts and performance upgrades in the last couple of years.
