Vehicle Detail
Look what I found in the garage! 8 cyl., 289 cu. in., automatic, power steering, A Code Package. This "true original", documented one-owner estate car has been napping for the last eight years and is ready for restoration. Always garaged and regularly maintained, it truly shows pride of ownership. This car has been professionally appraised per estate regulations. It is in very good all-over original condition with minor cosmetic scrapes and nicks. Straight and clean. No past or present damage concerns. Currently non-operational with 4 flat tires, yet fully intact...it would not take much to be functional. No apparent major mechanical concerns. Solid undercarriage. Rust free. Original factory stock components from seatbelts to still-looks-new convertible boot. Even has the owner "name tag" in the glove box! Perfect for an easy, "original" restoration project. I am the executor for the estate that owns the car. The couple that owned the car were close friends of mine. They were the original owners. He kept the car running and well maintained until his death in 2003. At that point, his wife let the car sit in the garage until her death in early 2011. It has a clear title. It is registered as inoperable. I have had the car professionally appraised. I have been advised to not try to start the car until the fluids have been flushed and replaced. The appraiser said that it should not take much to get it in running condition, as nothing seems to be "frozen". I deliberated as to whether or not I should have it running before placing it for sale, and was advised it would be fine to sell it "as is". Upon the owner's death, the Mustang had 4 flat tires. Just before I placed the ad, I had the tires inflated so I could move it to storage. At that point, it was discovered that the brakes are not functioning...we had to use the parking brake when moving it. Also, moving the vehicle has caused a leak of transmission fluid. There was no evidence of any leaks before that. The light blue exterior paint is not the original color. The original color was a darker blue metallic. I do not know when it was repainted, but it appears to be a rather cheap paint job. It has cosmetic chips and scratches, but no rust or dents. Each front seat has a rip at the seam. The back seat upholstery is intact. The top is in good condition, but the rear window has yellowed. In my opinion, the car is pretty clean. Please read the full description before bidding. I am selling the car "as is" with no warrantees or guarantees written or expressed. Buyer is responsible for the shipping or transportation of the vehicle. A $1000.00 non refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of auction close through paypal, or cash if local. The balance needs to be paid within 7 days of auction close, cash in person. Contact me to make arrangements. If you have any questions, email me, Penny, at estatemustang66-advert@yahoo.com. Sorry, there is currently no "buy it now" price. I'm going to let the auction go to it's full term.
