Vehicle Detail
I'm selling my 2001 Toyota Celica GT-S. It's a beautifully designed car that's fun to drive and surprisingly practical. I love this car and the only reason I am selling it is because I am moving to the mountains of Colorado and will need an AWD car. The car is a dream to drive; it's fast and it grips the road. It's a glorious thing when the lift kicks in above 6k RPM, big horsepower boost that you can really feel. It takes a manual to truly take full advantage of this car with the variable valve timing and lift. It has a large trunk (much bigger than you would expect looking at it from the outside) which is great for hauling around groceries, bikes, skis, or whatever. With the snow tires on (currently on; I'll also give you the 3-season tires which are in great shape) and the ABS, the car handles the snow without a problem. The snow tires have only been used for 2 seasons and are worth about $500 new. I get around 30 MPG with the snow tires, 33 MPG with the 3-season tires - although the car does require 91 octane fuel (and has always gotten premium fuel.) I'm a non-smoker and this car has never been smoked in. The title is clean. I recently had the rear brakes (pads, rotors, calipers) replaced. The car has a chain rather than a timing belt, so this should never need replacing, and I've had my mechanic check out the car and he said there's no major maintenance to expect soon. I had the oil changed a few days ago, and the car is freshly cleaned. There is some body damage to the car, including a dent on the driver quarter panel, a scrape on the passenger side door, and some other minor scrapes and dings (pictured.) The damage is purely cosmetic and there is no rust, so you can choose to fix it or not (price has been reduced due to the body damage.) The only other problem with the car is that the trunk doesn't stay open on its own in cold weather; I've been using a baseball bat (which I'll also include :-)) to keep it open, but this can be easily fixed as well by replacing the trunk struts ($54 - I'll replace these myself if I've got a chance before selling.) The Kelly Blue Book Value for this car in "good" condition on a private party sale is $7208.
