Vehicle Detail
Here for your consideration, this ALL ORIGINAL 1968 Porsche 912. This car spent it's entire life in New Jersey. The second owner owned it since 1970. It's been off the road since 1996. When we pulled it out of the garage we added some fresh gas, cranked it and it fired right up. It runs great, although probably could use a fresh tuneup and carbs rebuilt? The body has some surface rust (see pics) but overall it's in great original condition. It appears that all the trim and chrome is still in place. The underneath is in great shape, no rust that we could find. The interior is in fantastic condition and bone stock, with no cuts or damage. The seats are nice with no rips or tears. The carpet is in great shape as well as the original (really cool) coco floor mats. The dash is in nice shape and appears the gauges work. The speedo works but the odometer seems to have stopped working. The mileage is 76,000 and change and seems to be original as the condition of the car shows. The 5-speed trans shifts perfect through all the gears as it should with no grinding or anything funny. The motor runs and sounds great with no smoke or funny noises. It was test driven and has a shimmy in the front end. (maybe tie rod ends?) The original Blaupunkt radio is there but dosen't play. Looks like some wires are disconneted, and didnt investigate. All the lights work, headlights, directionals, brake and tail lights. Even the dome lights work. Overall this hard to find 912 in this condition is trully a rare find. This is a perfect canadiate for a restoration or do a little fixing and use as a driver. The title is still in the second owners name, (see pic). This is a classic car and don't expect a new car. This is a NO RESERVE auction, and the high bidder WINS!! Any questions call Todd @ 908-418-2125. There is a $500. deposit required within 24 hous of the auction ending. Balance is due in cash or certified funds. The car will be realsed when all funds clear. We can assist in shipping if thats required. On Feb-05-12 at 07:41:28 PST, seller added the following information: Here for your consideration, this ALL ORIGINAL 1968 Porsche 912.
