ATTENTION: I am relisting my car that I had for sale last week. An out of state buyer placed a Buy It Now bid and backed out the next day for personal reasons. Unfortunately my auction ended early, so if you are bidding PLEASE be serious and have the means to close the deal. If you have any questions, please contact me before bidding. All bids are final. I have done my best to descrribe the car in this ad. Thank you-BPG44For Sale: A stunning 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle SS with an upgraded Chevy 502 crate motor. The car is in excellent condition, inside, outside and underneath. It drives, looks and sounds wonderful. Simply a beautiful example of the last true Chevy muscle car in a breathtaking original color combination. The engine is putting out over 500hp and 500lbft of torque. There is close to $15k in the engine and drivetrain alone. This is not a frame off restoration. It is more of a refresh of the original car. Please read below for more details. Vehicle Video:Here is a walkaround of the car. Please click on the link below or copy and paste in your browser (It sounds even better if you have external speakers on your computer)http://youtu.be/DEwJU-K3VGU Vehicle Overview:Pewter silver with black stripes and a black vinyl topVehicle comes with the original build sheet (originally purchased in California in 1972)The chrome on the car is mostly originalInterior has new headliner, package tray, door panels, seat covers and carpeting. There is also a three guage pod and a custom SS three spoke steering wheel. The original steering wheel comes with the car as well.New American Racing Special Edition Wheels (17x7 and 17x8) and tiresTransmission is a 400 turbo hydromatic 3 Speed with finned aluminum panRear axle is the original 12 bolt posi-traction (273 gears) with new springs and shocksRear end also has the boxed control arms and rear sway barFront suspension has new springs and shocks and a partial rebuild Factory body options: SS packageCowl hoodRemote control driver side sport mirrorVinyl topBody side trim Factory vehicle options:A/C (non functioning, due to engine swap, but still has original hardware and controls for easy hookup with a Vintage Air kit)Power steeringPower front disk brakes Factory interior options:Bucket seatsCenter consoleTilt steering Engine Overview:The engine is a 502 Chevrolet crate motorChevy performance aluminum heads and intakeHolley Carb with electric fuel pumpMSD ignitionOptima Red Top batteryCustom chrome embossed 'original look' Chevrolet 502 air cleanerLarge tube Hooker ceramic headersFlowmater mufflers with custom oval double wall chrome tips This is a very comfortable and fun car to drive that brings smiles to everyone who sees and hears it. A true blast from the past that seamlessly blends the best of the original with the reliability and performance of the modern drivetrain. The car has less than 95k miles and the new engine has less than 1,000 miles on it. I have a clear title in hand. I also have the original build sheet that matches the cowl tag. The glove box has quite a bit of the original information that came with the car as well.To be very clear, this is not a frame off restoration. More like a refreshing of the original car. It's a car to drive, not a sit and look at it show car that you hope the value goes up in time. When I found the car, I liked it for the new 502 motor, mix of original parts still on it and the colors. I just added a few tweaks here and there. It still has the original dash, shifter console, door sills, bumpers, etc. I'm sure you might find things you want to do to it as well. I like to do that stuff, so it has been enjoyable for me.Honestly, I did not buy this car as an investment, I probably have 10k more in it that I am asking, but rather as a source of enjoyment, nostalgia and just plain fun. Oh, and the sounds it makes! I bought it two years ago as a tribute to my father who had recently passed away. We both loved Chevelles. He had one when I was a little boy and that memory has stayed with me for over 40 years. Unfortunately, my health issues are forcing the sale. My loss is your gain. When I found the car, it was pretty much as it is now. The paint is less than 3 years old. I have driven the car less than 1,000 miles myself, so it has lived a pretty easy life with me. It is stored and covered in my insulated building to insure the longevity of it's original parts. I recently had the tires blanced. Other than the A/C, the only thing that does not work on the car is the original clock. All the lights and guages work just fine to the best of my knowledge. The underside is very clean as I have tried to show in some of the photos. It is originally a California car.The indoor photos were taken when I bought the car and the other photos and video were taken recently at my house. If you have been looking for a new addition to a collection, a reliable classic muscle car to call your own or you just want to own a piece of American automotive history, this car is worth a look.If you have questions, please let me know. Otherwise, good luck bidding and I look forward to talking with the next owner of this terrific car.- BPG44 Auction Details:A deposit of US $1,000.00 is due within 48 hours of auction close.
