Vehicle Detail

eBay stopped my auction for not knowing the rules. It's back up though! Sorry for any inconvenience. Great 1970 Ghia driver. I purchased the car from northern California. The car is a decent 10 footer. There had been some amateur restoring done on the car prior to my ownership. It has had a paint job in the last couple of years, but it is very amateur job. When it was painted, they also painted the dash and installed new padding. I haven't done anything to the paint but wash it. Orange is not the original color. The body metal isn't perfect, but it is pretty solid. (i.e. there is some bond-o, but no rust-through as near as I have seen. Just some surface corrosion under the body and some corrosion under the battery tray.) The rocker panels are dead straight. The are a couple of trim pieces missing (nothing that can't be found for these cars). Then engine runs well and it leaks little if any oil. The carburetor is a new replacement that was installed before I bought the car. The heaters are hooked up and work GREAT! The transmission shifts and doesn't pop out of gear, but the shifter action is sloppy sometimes making it hard to grab second gear. I haven't looked into this issue. The weather striping is old (obviously) and needs to be sorted out. I never leave the car out of the garage, but I'd imagine that it would be less then weather tight in a storm. The wiring system has been hacked into a lot. The headlights and tail lights work alright, but the turn signals like to be temperamental every now and then. Sometimes the horn honks when doing tight turns. It's a 40+ year old car, so there are hoses that could always be replaced, wires that could be changed, etc, etc, etc... This car would be a great daily driver, or a good candidate for your project. The following has been done since I've owned the car: -New foam was installed in the front seats and the vinyl repaired. Any broken springs were repaired. The plastic trim on the drivers seat is missing. -Front ball joints were replaced as well as the oil seals on the torsion bars. -New steering box. -Rebuilt front brake calipers were installed as well as new pads, rotors, wheel bearings, and soft brake lines. -New master cylinder. -New rear brake shoes. -Engine valves adjusted. -Engine oil changed. -New tires (summer 2011) I do have some records (mechanic receipts) that came with the car. All records in my possession go with the car. The title is clear. Please be sure to ask any question you have prior to bidding. Inspections welcome. Buy is responsible for shipping.
