Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1991 Cadillac Liberty Edition Coupe Deville. I bought the car approx. 6 months ago from the son of the original owner. It was garage kept up until that time. It now sits outside, and that is one of the reasons I have decided to sell it. The paint is very good, but not perfect; it has a nice shine. There are some minor chips and door dings. There is absolutely NO rust. The gentleman from whom I purchased the car told me that the hood had been replaced after he hit a deer. He also told me that was the only damage ever done to the car. I don't know how much paint work has been done to the car, but I can tell you that all the pinstripes on the car are painted and are not tape. The chrome, gold emblems, and wheels are not perfect but they are in better condition than most Cadillacs of this vintage. The simulated convertible top is very nice. The interior is very nice. The dash is nice, the door panels are nice with NO cracks, and the seats are overall very nice. There are only two items of concern. 1. The headliner is hanging down and needs replaced. 2. The dye is coming off a section of the leather on the back rest of the driver's seat after it had been replaced by the previous owner. It is the correct perforated leather material and it is in good condition, but when it was replaced it had been dyed to match the interior color and now that dye is wearing off (please see photo). When I bought the Cadillac, it ran terrible. It had no power, and it ran rough. The previous owner told me his mechanic thought the car needed a fuel injector replaced. Despite it's poor running condition, I drove it home 2 hours. I proceeded to clean the throttle body, install a new computer, replace the temperature sensor, and replace the map sensor. I also added fuel injector cleaner to the fuel tank and drove it for several miles. As a result, the car runs much, much, much better, but it still has a slight miss. I don't know what it needs to make it run perfect, and I don't want to put any more money into it. I probably should have tried a fuel injector first like the previous owner suggested, but I like to do repairs that I can do myself, and I don't know how to replace a fuel injector. What I do know is that this Cadillac, with it's very durable 4.9 liter V8 engine, has only 123,000 original miles on it. The front tires should be replaced. The car is loaded. It has power windows, power seats, power door locks, and climate control. The a/c does not work, and power antenna is stuck in the up position. I NEED TO SELL THIS CADILLAC. It just sits, and it deserves better than that. IT IS A PRETTY CAR that needs a little work. This is a NO RESERVE auction and it is priced to sell. Thanks for looking at my auction. I appreciate your time.
