Vehicle Detail
This is the 2nd time we are listing her. She is now going WITHOUT a RESERVE. If you bid on her, and you love her, she's yours. This is a bid on my own personal car. She was purchased used in Tennessee, but I am now living in New York City. After four years, I am tired of looking for street parking. This is a fantastic car, with great pickup and maneuverability. I have been told by my mechanic that she is very sought after by car aficionados, who tweak the engine to go even faster. Below is a list the maintenance I've done. She's had regular oil changes and is very much loved. There is some minor paint damage due to being parked on the streets in Brooklyn. Unfortunately, the antenna is broken, but I sealed it to prevent leaking. This could be fixed easily for a few dollars and the CD and the radio still work fine. As per the notes below, the back window was replaced in 2011 (freak accident, seriously). The sealant on the front window is beginning to peel (see picture), but this could also be easily addressed. Both tires have great tread left on them. Original mileage at time of purchase (August 19, 2002) - 36,315 Mileage as of January 14, 2012 - 99,436. Note: due to NYC obnoxious parking laws, we move her twice a week, so mileage will have increased very, very slightly by time of purchase. We're talking less than 5 miles, as she usually just ends up across the street from where she was. Purchase - 2 New Tires (BFG Traction T/A - 60,000 mile warranty from Costco) - 58,363 miles on May 2005Accident - A friend backed their jeep into the passenger side door while we were parked. Limited damage: dent repaired by Geico insurance - 58,908 miles on May 2005Service - New Clutch Cylinder while under warranty - 79,311 miles on December 2006Purchase - 2 New Tires (BFG Traction T/A - 60,000 mile warranty from Costco) - 79,386 miles on December 2006Service - New Front Brakes - 85,000 miles December 2007 (estimated, as paperwork is lost)Service - Tail Light Gaskets replaced - December 2008. Note: This is a known issue with older cars. I fixed it easily myself for only $50. However, this may become an issue with water leaking into the trunk down the line. An easy solution would be to purchase new gaskets or new tail lights. Service - New Timing Belt - 90,000 miles Jan 2009 (estimated, as paperwork is lost)Service - Unclogged window washer spray front window - 92,984 miles February 2009Service - New Rear Brakes - 93,237 miles March 2009Service - Tune up - 94,433 miles July 2009Accident - Low speed collision into the back of another car due to slippery road conditions. Limited damage: bumper repaired by Geico insurance - 94,972 miles October 2009Service - Replaced passenger side front glass after break in. So it goes living in Brooklyn. No car hardware was stolen or damaged (besides the window). They saw our Garmin mount and figured we kept the unit in the car. Idiots. Dec 2009Accident / Service - Replaced back window after it was broken by a car wash roller. Didn't think that was possible, but it happened. May 2011. Amusing side note: This was our second anniversary trip. Suddenly our beloved car was a convertible. Brand new back window with brand new molding; she's been hand-washed ever since. Service - New Headlight Assembly on the Driver's Front Side. It started to leak and we were up for inspection. 98,915 miles July 2011 Passed NYC inspection, July 2011 Purchase - New Duralast Gold Battery - Dec 2011. Hence the battery is BRAND NEW. This was actually the tipping point that started me thinking about selling her. Make no mistake. I love this car. I've treasured her for almost 10 years. If I wasn't living in a city with mass transport and awful parking, I wouldn't hesitate to keep her for another 10 years. Acuras, as any discerning car person knows, last FOREVER. I want her to have a good new home, preferably somewhere where she can go fast like she wants to. PaymentIf you are the winning bidder, please contact me via email upon the end of the auction for verification. An immediate deposit of $500 via PayPal is required upon completion of the auction and the full transaction must be completed within 7 days via cashiers check, cash, or money order. eBay DOES NOT allow completion via PayPal for automobiles (as far as I've been able to determine). If payment completed within the specified period, the offer is rescinded and the car will be offered for re-sale. Obviously, appropriate feedback will be left.I'm including the section below because eBay recommends it and with the assumption that you will appropriately examine the multiple pictures of the car that I am including with this post. She IS NOT in pristine condition, but that is entirely due to cosmetic issues. She still runs like a beast and will take out anybody who pushes up against you at a red light. Seriously. AS-IS – No Warranties This vehicle is being sold as is, i.e. no warranty is expressed written or implied. The seller shall not be responsible for the correct description, authenticity, genuineness or defects herein and makes no warranty in connection therewith. No allowance or set aside will be made on account of any incorrectness, imperfection, defect or damage. Any descriptions or representations are for identification purposes only and are not to be construed as a warranty of any type. It is the responsibility of the buyer to have thoroughly inspected the vehicle and to have satisfied himself/herself as to the condition and value and to bid based upon that judgment solely. Also possible is an inspection that the buyer can pay for before bidding (saw this available on eBay). The seller has made every reasonable effort to disclose any known defects associated with this vehicle at the buyers request prior to the close of the sale. Seller assumes no responsibility for any repairs regardless of any oral statements about the vehicle. Ben wanted me to point out the photo of the interior that shows the stick-shift rubber is wearing down due to use. I put an eyeglass case over it, so it doesn't bother me :-) We're convenient to almost all NYC subways (A, C, F, R, 2, 3, 4, and 5). ALSO NOTE: Opposite side of the street parking is tomorrow, so we moved her today. Mileage is now between 99,435 and 99,436 as stated in the listing, not in the picture. On Jan-21-12 at 18:38:40 PST, seller added the following information: Mileage increased by 2 miles. A prospective buyer did a test drive. She's very excited! On Jan-22-12 at 12:18:59 PST, seller added the following information:She's moved again! Another excited potential buyer. Mileage is now 2 miles higher! 27 people are watching her, and we have less than 21 hours to go!!
