Vehicle Detail
For sale is a 1953 Ford F-100 pick truck (does not run) The vehicle has not been operated in over 22 years but has been garaged the entire time and kept under moving blankets. Given its age and being a truck, it does have dents (bed and running board primarily) but very little rust damage (running boards to rear wheel wells.) The cab (most important part as not replaceable) is in fairly clean condition with a few minor dents that can be easily fixed and would be ideal as a ground up project vehicle. I purchased the truck in 1978 and started a partial restoration that included new motor, transmission, upgraded wiring including new wiring. fuse panel, upgraded instrumentation panel, new glass, window channels and door rubber. Also break pads, drums, master cylinder, wheel cylinders, shocks and new oak bed. I operated the vehicle from 1979-1988 at which point it was garaged. Over time, the gas turned to turpentine (1990) and fouled all 3 carburetors and has sat in the garage since. Given the time that the vehicle has sat, much of initial restoration needs be started over again (engine, breaks, transmission, bed, …) We just tried to turn the crank-shaft by hand and it does still rotate fully although the engine seals are probably shot at this point. Also, the wheel cylinders appear to need replacing (i.e. no breaks other than use of the emergency break.) The carburetors will also need to be rebuilt. Drive train in the vehicle but not operational: - Ford 292 motor w/ headers to glass packs - 3 deuce (2 Holly and 1 Ford) carburetors on an Edlebrock tri-power manifold - Ford top loader 4 speed manual transmission - Original rear-end - Original suspension The cab of the vehicle does not have headliner, carpeting, glove box or door panels but still has the original heater. If you are looking for a project truck, then this auction is for you! Buyer will have to arrange pick-up of vehicle. Buyers are encourged to ask questions regarding vehicles condition.
