Rare AMX, one of 33,000 made in three years as a two seater version. Car has very sound body with exception of pass front fender which has a little rust. Car is perfect for restoration project. Engine is 290 (came with a 390 from factory, previous owner kept engine and installed this one.) with a Borg Warner four speed T10 with Hurst shifter. Engine does run and is is good shape, needs fuel tank replaced. There is additional extra doors, trim panels, dash parts etc (see pictures) Also have a 1969 American Motors AMX shop manual with it. This is an awesome ride and very much a part of the Muscle Car era.On Jan-04-12 at 17:24:31 PST, seller added the following information: Let me tell you what I know about this car. I've owned it since 1980. It was probably tucked and rolled at one time. The individual I bought it from was drag racing it at the track and stripped the interior etc for weight. Before I bought it, they pulled the 390 and installed the 290 and threw some old carpeting on the floor and a couple of seats and all the parts were basically separate but with the car. I have driven the car on the street approx 500-1000 miles. I've added pictures of the door tag and also pictures of the floor pans and cowling area as well as the engine compartment. This car is very rust free except for the front fender. Due to circumstances I have never been able to rebuild it. The engine runs good but the fuel tank needs replaced due to oxidation. I had the engine running very recently by putting the suction line in a bucket, eliminating the tank. Engine, clutch, transmission, drive shaft, and rear end are all in working condition. There basically is no interior to speak of and I have added those pictures as well. It needs some TLC.
