This is your opportunity to purchase a beautiful firemist red 1972 MB 350SL. This was the first year of production for this body style and it incorporates the smaller front and rear bumpers which truly make this MB look like a real roadster. This is not the European version with the smaller engine, but it is the American version with the 4.5 litre engine. The American 350 SL was only available for one year and it then became the 450SL. This engine has no catalytic converters and has 50 horsepower more than the 1973. This SL has been my wife's summer car and I can truthfully say that the convertible top was never up all summer. The color is MB firemist red with a dark tan interior. It has power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, power windows and is in outstanding condition. The mileage is original and with only 71,000 miles on the odometer, drives like it can easily go another 71.000. Very few miles for a 40 year old Mercedes. The paint is in excellent condition with the exception of a few hairline scratches that wouldn't even reproduce on the photo. The tires are almost new and it has just had a full tuneup and oil/filter change and a new battery installed. The convertible top is in good condition with no rear window issues. There is a small wear mark on the left corner of the top which is caused by the top going up and down. The hardtop is also painted firemist red and is in excellent condition. The 350SL is a true collectible. Unlike subsequent 450SL' s with their huge bumpers sticking out 12 inches, this MB has the small European bumpers. If you do your research as I did and my wife did, you will find that the 350 SL's are indeed the version to own and invest in. The unique look is timeless and it will look great 20 years from now. This will make someone a great holiday gift. Don't let it pass you by.
