This is a 1971 Opel GT in good shape. The body was just touched up and repainted a gun metal gray. There is no rust, but there is one imperfection in the paint on the passenger front fender, but it is not very noticable. It looks nice and has a very solid structure. The interior could use a few things if one wanted to make it perfect but looks alright the way it is. It has new seat covers, shifter boot, headlight cable, dash clip cover, mats, and more. Mechanically the car runs and drives great, with only 90,000 original miles. It has a new clutch and rebuilt Weber carburator, new plugs, points, wires, tires, lights, etc. The headlights do flip over with a pull of the lever inside, it is very unique. The brakes work well but pull slightly when you stop fast. I will bleed them before this car goes to its new owner, I believe that is the only problem with the brakes. If someone wanted to make this car show quality it could use some more work here and there, but as is, it is a great weekend or daily cruiser. It turns a lot of heads. I have owned this car for 10 years and just kept it as a side project for fun. I had bought three Opel GT's at once, and collected many parts for them over the years. The first one I fixed up to show quality and sold; it has been touring Opel GT conventions and car shows since. I have always liked these cars because they are so unique and fun to drive. Another great thing about this car is that I am sending all my spare parts and parts car with it. The parts car is also a 1971 with less than 100,000 miles complete with motor and transmission and clear title but the body is very rough wrecked and burned, and has not run in 20 years. Also, I have a good 1.9 liter engine, and 4 speed transmission, clutch, front suspension, rear axle, wheels, etc. It is a bunch of random Opel parts! If you do not want the parts car and extra parts you do not have to take them but the price of the car does not go down. I am willing to help arrange transportation of the car and parts at buyers expense. The good news is I am located in the middle of the U.S. so shipping shouldn't be too outrageous.
