Vehicle Detail

Up for bids is my 1940 Buick Special Sedan. I got this car a few months ago and wanted to make a custom out of it. I chopped the roof 3 inches front and back. There was no rust on the car and had all the body work done before i got it. All the garnish mouldings were chopped and painted red to match the wheels. All the glass is installed, the windshield, pass rear door and pass quarter window are new glass and the rest is original glass that was cut. The wing windows are functional and even the cigerette vents in the back slide back like they did stock. The trim is all in good shape. Paint is driver quality with a few imperfections here and there but overall looks good. This car came stock with rear suicide doors which are always cool. The taillight lenses are not installed because i have not recieved them from the ebay auction yet. bumpers are both straight and doesn't ever appear to have ever been in any accidents. the hood shuts nicely but one latch handle is broken off. it still closes and opens though. The original straight 8 was seized so i pulled it out and put a great running 305 small block chevy in with a 350 automatic transmission. There is an electric fan and motor doesn't get hot even idling for an hour. There is an edelbrock intake and 600 cfm carb. It has corvette valve covers and edelbrock aircleaner top painted to match the motor. The fenderwell headers made the lake pipes easy to run and the straight pipes sound very good. The stock rearend was a torque tube so i pulled that out and put a chevy 8.5 10 bolt and installed custom parallel leaf springs with 3 inch lowering blocks. Front is lowered by cutting a few coils off the springs. We have extra stock front springs for this buick too. Brakes are all good and stops on a dime. Has the stock steering box and tracks down the road straight. The transmission shifts great and uses the stock column shifter with custom shift linkage. The interior was kept all stock with the original springs for the seats. We wrapped them in real mexican blankets and looks very classic. Door panels are all black and looks with the red garnish mouldings. Dash is painted white and has the red gauge cluster and glove box door. I have the title for this car and it has a replacement california vin tag. It is two years late but if need be i can register it if it sells. here is the link to some videos of the buick: http://www.youtube.com/user/mengestwincustoms?feature=watch
