Vehicle Detail
Well I'm sure no expert on BMW motorcycles, but I got this from a friend. His friend had this bike for many years, and built it years ago. This bike is what I call "Barn Fresh". It has been in storage for the last couple of years.(or maybe more?). It was a good running daily driver when it was last parked and put away. It has a 1971 R-60-5 engine and front end on it. Years ago when the bike was altered, it was an upgrade... now it's a shame. (to mess with an original). According to all the information I found on the web... this bike is an actual 1963 R69S. The numbers for an R69S, are from 655004 through 666320. This bike has a Vin# of 657786, so I would say, it started it's life as a true R69S. It sure wont win any beauty contests, but it is just as I received it.( with all the dead bugs dirt and leaves). The engine is free and the bike was running fine when put away. I have no doubts that someone more mechanical than myself could have it up and running again in short order. My thoughts are that someone will make a neat rider out of it, or someone will completely restore it back to original. The gas tank is clean inside. I would say this bike is about 100% complete even though not all correct. I wish I had the original forks and engine but I do not. This bike has a clear and open Colorado title (the title says its a 1963 as well). My opening bid is 3,000 with no reserve. This bike is almost 50 years old and being sold as-is. I would much rather you plan for the worst and hope for the best than be disappointed in any way. I honestly can't imagine finding a neater BMW, vintage, classic motorcycle like this, for the price. I only want the buyer to be as excited as I was, when I found it in storage. Term of sale I can not ship..... This means I can not crate, box, disassemble, or deliver to a shipping company. I will however be more than happy to assist your shipper, however I can. If you have zero feedback, contact me before you bid or your bid will be canceled, and you will be blocked from further bidding as well. A $250.00 non-refundable PayPal deposit is due within 48 hours of the auctions end. The balance is due via bank/certified check, or cash in person within 7 days of the auctions end.
