Vehicle Detail

THE STORY: You are looking at an incredibly fun 1973 Chevrolet Camaro RS Z28. I drove this car as my business car for nearly two years and I can promise you, it turns heads! During the two years that I drove it, I worked to make it more comfortable (added air/co) and prettier (painted it “Tangerine Kandy,” by House of Kolor — a fantastic, layered candy paint job that really has to be seen in person to appreciate. Red in some light and deep orange in other, due to the layers of the paint job). This car isn’t a show car, but it’s a solid, solid driver. It starts every time, runs well, has plenty of power. It’s got an easy clutch, good steering — you don’t have to have a load of muscle to drive this muscle car. Most people no longer think of these as a family car, but it’s got seat belts and adequate room in the back for two happy kids or for two long-suffering adults. This car COULD be brought up to a show car, and I’m putting the reserve low enough to make that a reasonable possibility. Fully restored and Botoxed ‘73s sell for $45,000-70,000. I’ll confess I’m parting with this because I’m a bit of a car addict and not only have one of these in blue, but also a Mini Cooper that needs to be run. I just can’t drive them all. Buying a car off eBay can be intimidating (I’ve done it several times), so I’m going to do my best to be absolutely exhaustive in the list of work I’ve done AND work that could still use attention. This is a beautiful car, and it’ll be a pleasure for whoever gets it to finish up. THE NITTY-GRITTIES: After checking the VIN I’ve confirmed this is a factory Z, but can't confirm the RS option. It does have the correct RS front clip with split bumper and high mount turn signals/parking lights. The car’s currently inspected in Virginia until 6/2012. I originally purchased this car here on eBay (you see, I told you I bought cars off eBay), and found the previous owner had made several conversions to the car, including taking out the automatic transmission and putting in a 4spd. For whatever reason, the previous owner had also put in a 350 small block from an early 80's Chevrolet Impala. As I mentioned above, I repainted the car (Tangerine Kandy) and had work done to make the car more reliable and correct. Stuff We've Done: -Repaint in 2010 -Removed racing headers and replaced with stock -Removed Electronic Spark Ignition and replaced with stock starter/ignition -Replaced steering column and safety switch -Replaced all wiring from firewall forward -Installed after-market A/C that blows ICE COLD -Installed SONY CD/MP3 player and Kenwood speakers -Removed, cleaned and re-installed gas tank -Replaced fuel line -Replaced front brake lines -Replaced all 4 shocks -New steel cowl hood with proper screens and hood latch -New weather stripping on both windows and trunk -Whooped and hollered while driving Stuff That Needs To Be Done: -Tach not currently working -Front bushings need replaced -Back up lights not currently working -Driver side window needs realigned -Pass. side front turn signal intact but cracked -Trunk has interior rust but surface only -Windshield washer needs replaced -Both interior door panels are incorrect year/need replaced and have wear from window handles -Driver's seat is a refit passenger seat, release for back is on wrong side -More whooping and hollering while driving Also, there are several paint dings/scratches that need repair. They're in the photos, but are in the following locations: -Front hood on passenger side -Driver side door in front of mirror -Middle of Driver door Feel free to contact me with any questions about the car! If you have a Feedback score of 0, please contact me before bidding or your bid will be cancelled.
