1999 E 320 4-matic This car has been in my family for 7 years We loved it and took very good care of it all these years. Unfortunately while driving recently there was a fire in the rear. I have been told it likely was caused by the battery which is under the rear seat. The fire continued for about 15 minutes until fire department arrived. Looks like there was also a fuel leak that may have been secondary to the initial fire or possibly the cause. The details are unclear. The car is not in drive-able condition, however would be great option for someone looking for parts. The body did not have any damage previously or in this fire. The engine, transmission, brakes and tires are all in great shape. The interior is in superb condition with the exception of the rear seat. The fire department did hose down the rear seat.
