1997.5 Hummer H1 wagon. Black in color with tan interior. Has been upgraded with the Mile Marker 10,300lb Hydraulic Winch, Heavy Load bearing roof rack, Solid 4-point Frame mounted Hood Grill Guard, and Factory installed Heavy Duty Tow Package. Also includes complete under vehicle protection with both full size rocker and underbody guards, and tunnel and differential cages. Basically.. This truck is in prestine condition. Just did $8000.00 in work that was needed to make this in tip top shape. Most of the used Hummer H1 that are available for purchase are seldom maintained and are not kept in an excellant condition. I recently purchased this H1 through a dealer in Chicago. When i got it home it went straight to the only shop in Wisconsin that really know Hummer H1. Here ALL the maintenance and repairs that one buying an H1 would expect already done .. were actually done. Although this was purchased in excellant condition, It is now in really in excellant condition! First, the Geared hubs were gone through to see the life they have lived... an easy life the way they looked. No water in the fluids.. and gears looked great. seals were replaced as maintenance and synthetic fluids installed. Next all the ball joints were replaced, as they are due at this time any way. That means ALL 8. All parts installed were genuine AM General. The idler arm was also replaced for minor play. When flushing the transfer case and transmission with BG synthetic fluid, it was noticed that a new rebuilt transmission from genuine AC DELCO had just been installed. Which is exactly right on schedule for these hummers. Also it was noticed that prior to my purchase, the transfer case had already been upgraded with the revised inter-cooler, to stop the Vampire situation these earlier models had. Then the center support bearing assembly, and u-joints for both the front and rear drive shafts were replaced with factory AMG joints. Flushed the differentials with BG synthetic gear lube. The brakes had just been replaced with easily 80% remaining life front and rear. Differential output shaft seals were replaced as well for minor seepage. The PMD had not already been replaced and relocated with the heat sink, so this was done to prevent future stalling problems I have run into with these in the past. The tires it had on it had poor wear patters, so I replaced them with Military OZ Goodyear MT which are military tread. Very smooth on the road and quiet, yet proven on battle fields. Aligned all four wheels to perfect spec. Tires now have 75-80% treadlife remaining. This has very tight steering play which is unheard of in the hummer industry. Drives perfectly straight, and have perfect tire wear now. The engine is very clean inside the valve covers, proving good maintenance prior. The turbo sounds wonderful when activated, and there is no smoke on start up or under full throttle acceleration. Often the test of remaining life. passed with flying colors. No abnormal noises, and glow plugs operate well for cold start up. Have been using it as an daily driver and have never any runability issues. The interior has had Neoprene seat covers most of its life the way the seats look. NO cigarette burns or stains. Very minor nicks here and there from use, but really great condition./ Some of the bezels are cracked here and there, but very minor. The guages all work properly, and report data correcty. The CTIS manifold and compressor, as well as the switches and guages all function normally. These Aftermarket rims have the ports for CTIS fittings, so just the hoses to the hubs are needed to finish there functionality. The Air conditioning works flawlessly, and this does have the auxillary unit in the rear, all works great. The heater core was just replaced as well in thre main unit for slight seepage, and the servos were updated at that time as well. This has flawless rear carpeting. All windows are tinted dark black, with minor scrapes. The front windows are the very best available. Factory slight tint, and heated. Very expensive option sold in cold climates. Monsoon CD 6 Disc with woofer under back seat. sounds amazing with any music. There is NO rust on this vehicle. there is only very minor aluminum corrosion on the aluminum body at some points, but all completely sealed under paint. All power windows, locks, and accessorys work, minus passenger side mirror. It does not move when controlled by switch. Minor repair in the future, The interior at the shifter assembly is starting to pull away like every H1 with age does, bt is at its stopping point. barely noticable. This has Both the 25 gallon main tank and auxillary 17 gallon tank installed. Both senders as the lift pump and selector valve work flawless. Dual INTERSTATE mt-78 installed. Alternator output testing, and starter draw test all normal. Newer starter recently installed it looks, but with an after market brand, not the factory Prestolite. This is the only H1 I have gone through and considered keeping. We all know this is the last bi-year for the single- high mounted computer, with the 6.5 turbo diesel, and the upgraded heavy duty axel shafts. This almost kills me to attempt to let this once in a life find go, but business rules evolve my conscience..
