Ok here. first listing on ebay for some time. 1961 Dodge polara 4dr sedan. I saved this car from a guy who was thinking about sending it to the crusher. I thought it was the coolest but god awful looking car i have seen in some time. There was some stories the guy told me that i had to later find out myself so my research has uncovered most of the details. Car was sold new in St Petersburg FL. Owner then took it to a few different states then ended up in wyoming. From there it exchanged i think 3 hands before i got it. I have almost all the service docs on the car since new and its a small pile. It seems that only the water pump and alternator has ever been replaced on the car since new minus maybe a few tune ups. Once it had the steering box adjusted to pass Wyo inspection. There is a few spots across the drivers side that had some body work done years ago. Then sometime before 2000 the owner at the time slid off the road during a snow storm and thats where the pass side fender and bumper was damaged. but only the fender and bumper need replaced. NO other damage was done. Now the juicy details. 361, pushbutton 3speed, power windows(front motors need rebuilt, rears fine), Factory A/C, and NO RUST!!!! yes i said no rust and i truly mean it. well other than some surface spots in the trunk weather strip channel and just a few flakes in the middle of the trunk floor that can easily be cleaned up with a wire brush. Underneath the floor pans still have some of the factory undercoating and paint. frame is perfect. also if you can find one rust spot that is all the way through i will deduct $500.00 off price but that isnt going to happen because i have looked. Interior is original but very sun damaged but intact. Its not trashed but very crusty. no mice have gotten into car either. Dash pad needs replaced and needs some work to get all the gauges working again(amp shorted out and think it took all the power out of oil and temp gauges) speedo works. radio works good after it warms up. Engine fired up but needed carb rebuilt. did that but sometimes needs to be primed to fire after its been sitting for a couple days. I had to replace a couple of push rods that got bent before i had a chance to get all the ancient gas and turpentine oil out of it but now purrs like a kitten. needs some of the freeze plugs replaced because they are leaking. i was going to pull engine and trans to replace all the gaskets but havent had time and didnt want to disable the car since it does drive around the yard. trans shifted fine. brakes need attention because M/C was gummed up. got it freed up but didnt bleed all the way out. I have the original wheels and 3 of the hubcaps. tires on it are good but older. As far as outer cosmetics it will need some of the pass side trim and a taillight lens. All the glass is perfect. There might be a few things I'm missing but can't remember them all. I tried to describe the car to the best of my ability as not to have to answer all the tire kicker questions later. Terms will be $200 deposit required within 48 hours of auction end and total payment due within 7 days of auction end. if you are going to transport it will drive onto any trailer or hauler. car is for sale locally and auction could end early due to local purchase. Hate to see car go but i have way too may other projects to finish before this one. I can store the car where it sits for a REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME, but if its paid for it aint hurting nothing.
