Vehicle Detail

2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4wd Quadra Drive This Jeep Grand Cherokee has been a project for several years. It retired from daily service a few years back when the engine began to smoke and I decided I would make it a project vehicle to have some fun. Unfortunately once I built it my interests went on to other things and I just haven't had the time to use it. I built this Jeep to be a very competent and reliable SUV with winter travel in mind for camping and ski trips. My first order of business was to correct the engine smoking. I spared no expense and replaced the engine with a brand new remanufactured 4.7 liter V8. The cost of the engine alone was $2950.00 not including the install which was done by a professional mechanic ($1313). When he replaced the engine I also had him replace, water pump, plug wires, thermostat, PCV valve and all other service type items. Jeep has ran exceptional since. I also have all paper work for engine as well as install. Once the Jeep was back to running great it was time to look at a change in altitude. I ordered a Rough Country 4" X series lift, http://roughcountry.com/jeep_wj_4x.html which included all new coil springs, upgraded shocks, track bar, and X series adjustable control arms. To compliment the lift I also ordered the WJ Dual Steering Stabilizer kit. Rough Country components totaled $943. To properly lift a Jeep Grand Cherokee with Quadra Drive you should always replace the front driveshaft. The stock driveshaft is a rezeppa style that is not conducive to lifted applications do to length and strength. So a call was made to Tom Woods drive shafts and a new Double Cardan driveshaft was ordered. This was nearly $500. http://www.4xshaft.com/Cherokee/GrandCherokee_DCRez.html During the lift install I replaced the front axles (CV driveshafts), all brake rotors, all brake pads, front brake calipers, ball joints, even the rear center ball joint unique to Jeep WJ's. All maintainence items were $902 just for parts. To compliment the new hidth of the jeep a proper set of wheels and tires were necassary. I purchased a set of "take-off" Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 17" wheels ($400) and wrapped them with 265/70/17 BFGoodrich All Terrain TA/KO's. ($849.84) Also added were the front recovery points. ($175) http://www.saguaro4xcomponents.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=48 As you can see I have done my best to be very thorough in this build. It is a 12 year old machine and has nicks and scrapes and a ding in the passenger door over window. (see pictures) Overall it is in really good shape for its age and is quite a head turner. It starts everytime and runs as smooth as can be. It isn't loud or obnoxious. I hate to part with it but I just have too many toys and this one just sets in the corner of the garage. FYI pics were taken a week or so ago. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Note: I have all documentation and reciepts for all improvements to the jeep. Happy Bidding!
