Vehicle Detail
Desirable 2.0 engine. The car is now black but originally was a light metallic blue. The interior is in decent shape but is not original to the car. If you notice it has the earlier stationary passenger seat. I bought the car this way so not sure why it was retro fitted with the earlier interior. The 2.0 liter has the original fuel injection. Runs pretty well but when accelerating there is a hesitation or stumbling. May be an air leak somewhere, not many adjustments available on the factory fuel injection. We have put all new shift bushings in the coupler, used a brass bushing where the shift rod enters the side shift trans. For those who are 914 guys as we are, I found a great source called Mid-Engine Mania for parts. The car has some rust in the inner rockers and those need to be reinforced or replaced. Front sway bar. Surprisingly there is no rust through anywhere. Battery tray area is not shot, pretty solid. Rear compartment and front spare tire area is in good shape also. The ATS wheels are kinda rare and look great on the car. We drove the car to Porsches to Oxford this year and it got quite a bit of attention. It is a good 20 footer. Lights work and all electricals are ok. Our plan was to make it an autocross car. It likes to run all out and has some suspension mods also. Just in the last week we had an incident with a stone from a dump truck and it cracked the windshield so we are currently looking for a replacement for that. I do have a picture of that included. We are PCA members for many years and owned 3 914s. This car is a great car to restore to autox and/or drive everyday. As you can see in the photos it has European lenses front and rear. My reason for selling is back surgery that will not allow me to get in and out of the car;(On Nov-28-11 at 09:15:22 PST, seller added the following information: I cannot be sure the miles are accurate on this car.
