Vehicle Detail
For sale: a 1988 IROC Z28 convertible in good condition. Dark red metallic paint. New top, new carpeting, new seat coverings, new tires. 16-inch IROC wheels. Car has a 5.0 TPI engine. Overall body is in very good condition, with no rust issues on the doors, fenders, quarter panels. VIN stickers under the hood and on doors and deck lid match dash VIN plate. Tilt wheel and cruise. Both front seats converted to power seats. Correct speedometer for the IROC. 4-Speed Automatic transmission was professionally rebuilt as was the DISC BRAKE rear end. Yes, that is the rare disc brake rear end. New gears and axles were installed, as well as all new brake lines from the master cylinder and proper proportioning valve back to all four wheels. Delco AM/FM stereo was retrofitted with a working CD player. Exhaust system is stock and in good shape. The power pull down for the trunk works, as do the windows and door locks. The steering wheel is leather wrapped but excessively worn; I have a new leather wrapped of the correct style for an IROC but have not installed it. The dash pad is in ok shape but is cracked on the outside corners, which is very common to third generation Camaro's. Likewise, I have new dash pad but have not installed it yet either. Left tail light is cracked in the to corner, and yes I have a replacement for it. All three replacement parts go with car when sold. There are a couple dings on the body and a scuffed place on the right rear bumper corner, but no damage to the bumper cover. The lower portion of the front air dam has some pitting, but no cracks. Overall the car could stand to be color sanded and buffed to bring the paint back to life, and it would look pretty good. However, for the more discriminating buyer, for the car to be a proper show-winner it probably should be repainted. I originally bought this car to restore it as close to its original condition as I could, but just don't have the time anymore due to work and other commitments. This is a strong running car that holds true to its heritage. I'd like to see someone buy it and take it to the next level (which wouldn't take much) and enjoy it.
