Note: Bidding the first time I listed my Cadillac came very close to the least I wanted to take for the car but did not meet my reserve. I decided to start the auction this time at my bottom line figure and offer the car at no reserve. This 1994 Cadillac Sedan DeVille is a rare, factory original pink paint, Mary Kay Edition. The car has been garaged and well maintained and looks and drives like new with only 77,080 actual miles. We purchased the car from a friend of the family who was a beautician and she had bought the Cadillac some years ago from an elderly lady who was also in the beauty field and had gotten too old to drive. Cadillac has not offered a factory pink color option since the 1950's except by exclusive arrangement with Mary Kay Cosmetics. Only the top sales people with Mary Kay were awarded the prestigious use of a pink Cadillac in the form of a two year lease. At the end of two years, if the Mary Kay consultant was still a top producer, they had the option of purchasing the car at a substantial mark up. Most people turned the car back in to GM, who were required by the contract with Mary Kay, to repaint the car (usually white) before it could be resold at auction. If the Mary Kay representative opted to purchase the car in spite of the premium price, they were required to sign an agreement where they agreed to have the car repainted if they ever decided to sell it. This Cadillac is one of the few that slipped through the cracks and retained its original paint. That this DeVille is an genuine Mary Kay edition is verified by the WA 9601 and "08" paint codes (Mary Kay pink) on the service label in the trunk. I also obtained the "birth certificate" (RPO code sheet) for the car from the dealer and it shows the "08" color code as well. These items can be seen in the photos. Not only is this Cadillac cool to look at but it is a well designed car as well. It is powered by the proven 4.9 liter V8 which is considered by many to be one of Cadillac's most reliable engines (unlike the troublesome and expensive to repair "Northstar" motor). In 1994, GM made further improvements to both the engine and transmission and these cars are known to regularly go up to 300,000 miles without major repairs. With only 77,080 miles on this car, there are many miles of reliable driving left. Gas mileage is also surprisingly good. I recently completed a 1000 mile trip with the Cadillac and not only did it drive flawlessly, but it delivered over 30 mpg on the highway! 1994 also brought about other technological advances and refinements such as dual air bags, anti-lock brakes, R-134a air conditioning, and they met all advanced safety standards that included such things as steel door beams and safety cage construction as well as front and rear crush zones. This car is well equipped as you would expect a Cadillac to be. It has dual power seats, remote keyless entry, climate control, twilight sentinel, auto dimming mirrors, power antenna, tilt, leather wrapped steering wheel, 4 wheel disc brakes, upgrade sound system, power trunk pull down, and so on. To my knowledge, everything works as it should on the car with the exception of the cruise control. I was told it was probably a ruptured vacuum diaphragm which is easily replaced and can be bought inexpensively here on Ebay. I never use cruise control and therefore I never took the time to repair it. This Cadillac has a very classy and neat "retro" look to it. The pink color is not an obnoxious "loud" pink but a softer powder or blush color that gets lighter or darker depending on how the light hits it. This is why the color varies in the pictures. I get smiles and waves and compliments all the time. The original paint is in excellent condition as is the interior as can be seen in the photos. As is common with most cars, the clear coat on the aluminum wheels is peeling in places but you have to be looking for it to see it. As you would expect from a 17 year old car, there are a few rock chips that have been touched in and a few other minor flaws but the car is overall in amazing condition and looks as good as it does in the pictures. It has never been in an accident, has been owned by non-smokers, and is rust free. It doesn't leak anything on the garage floor and I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. Pink Cadillacs have been a part of Americana since the 1950's. Elvis had one. Songs and movies have been written about them and restaurants and bars have been named after them. Here is your chance to own an original paint pink Cadillac for a fraction of its original $35,000 cost.
