Vehicle Detail
Selling my 1987 White Volvo 240DL with 46,000 original miles on it, not a typo! Current EXACT mileage is 45,936 This is car is SUPER clean, it was purchased by me directly from the owner of Oskuie Service Center in Fairfax Virginia (they are a Volvo mechanic and dealer) it was his mother's car driven to work and back until she could not drive it anymore. I purchased it with about 21,000 miles on it. I have put a little over 20k miles on it in 4 years of ownership, we bought a new car about 3 months ago and the Volvo is just not getting any use other then a drive to work once a week just to drive it, would like to see it go to a Volvo person that can keep it in the amazing condition it's in. The inside looks almost brand new, the only thing not original is I swapped out the factory push button AM/FM radio for a MP3 disc compatible CD player that matches that dash (with a front AUX input for a iPhone or mp3 player) and upgraded the speakers (2 Pioneer's up front replacing the stock ones) I believe I still have the factory head somewhere if you want it. It has power locks (the driver push down locks all the locks and the drivers keyhole locks and unlocks all doors with the key), factory color matched all weather floor mats up front and back, cold working AC (was recharged last year by Swedish Motor Cars out of Falls Church Va) manual windows, manual rear view mirrors, heated seats (they get a LITTLE warmer when on but really not much) I can't think of any other "options" it has but if there is something that usually comes on one like this and you want to confirm please message me. The car has been a reliable tank, runs like a champ, and is super clean! Good gas mileage, drives and shifts extremely smooth (I have NEVER had a stutter or hesitation). / Virginia safety and emissions were done and passed in April this year These are the issues / blemishes I can come up with after really going over the car well, I tried to find anything at all that does not look "new" The exterior issues: On the drivers front quarter panel (and just the upper, front quarter panel, not the lower part, the lower part is shiny) the clear coat has faded and there are some black spots (see picture) the passenger side one has just a little clear coat fading in the same location and a few faint black spots (see picture) the rest of the car is very glossy and the paint looks like a new, shiny, modern white car, no fading. I have not had anyone try to buff out the black spots. The manual passenger rear mirror has a crack on the upper left of it (see pic) does not affect my line of sight when I drive so I did not bother with it, but it looks easy to replace from what I read. That's about it exterior wise, never been hit or hit anything, looks awesome! Interior issues: The front passenger map pocket of the door has a crack / piece missing off a part of the top (see picture) There is a half inch tear in rear passenger door panel (see pic) There are 2 very small holes on the drives seat (see picture) The driver door speaker cover has a small piece missing on the under side of it (not visible unless you are looking up front the ground up) and it is mounted with 3M automotive tape as the piece missing removed the necessary tension, does not "buzz" or effect the sound in anyway. The drivers visor where the post meets the plastic clip that holds it in place when it's in the standard forward position has started to wear away a little, it's starting to peel where the 2 meet after 20+ years of being flipped up and down :-) Otherwise it looks like a time machine back to 1987 Mechanical Issues: Might need new brake shoes in the next couple of months, they are barely starting to indicate. Radiator hose needs a new piece added to it as the original one cracked off from age, currently separated (see pic) That's it, the only things I have had to do with it mechanically since I have owned it other than general maintenance are the following: new brake shoes a few months after I got it had the valve cover re screwed (it was missing a screw that fell out and was leaking a little) new cat back exhaust not long after I took possession (factory not performance) to replace the original that had just worn out a new fuel pump relay to replace one had gone bad, and a new battery from that fuel pump relay killing it Happy to work whatever shipping / delivery service you would like to use if not picking up, any buyers with less than 10 positive feedback (and they can't all be really recent or really small price items) MUST contact me to be approved. On Nov-15-11 at 18:49:30 PST, seller added the following information: NOTE SORRY I BOUGHT THE CAR WITH ONLY 15,000 MILES NOT 21,000On Nov-15-11 at 20:35:22 PST, seller added the following information: **also note I should have said the CAT BACK exhaust that was replaced also included a brand new CAT (reason it failed emissions once) so what was replaced was the exhaust INCLUDING THE CAT and all the piping from it and back to including the tailpipe**
