Vehicle Detail

1952 Buick "Special" (4-door sedan) with 44,728 actual miles. All inspection slips and maintenance records available from September 1951 until present. These will be presented to buyer. No exterior rust, body in superb condition. Ready to drive, fully restore, or to "chop". Recently re-painted orginial color: "Peacok Green". Reupholstered and carpeted (adequate job, but some fading of seat tops and carpet (see photos) Headliner is in great shape. All orginial except for fuel tank and radiator. Both replaced with 1952 Buick parts from Buick Salvage yard in California. This is a "STRAIGHT EIGHT" with a manual transmission and a 6-volt electrical system. The accelerator also "starts" the vehicle (not unlike that of a gasoline powered golf cart).... this was the way most early 1950 model vehicles started. The radio does not work (I have not worked on it... it could be a fuse or a tube). The windshield wipers work, but have low compression which should be addressed. The tires are new and have approximately 45 miles on them (there is no spare tire, but there is a rim). You will note that there is an exterior "ball cap visor" in the truck which has not yet been mounted (I have included a photograph of another Buick with a ball cap visor - see photos). This vehicle is sixty years old and was originally purchased in September of 1951 by a school teacher who drove the vehicle until 1986. She kept it under a carport all of those years. She passed away in 1987, whereupon the vehicle "sat" until 2006 when I purchased it. The radiator and fuel tank were replaced, the fluids were flushed, the carborator was re-built, all hoses, belts, and spark plugs were replaced, as well as the battery. New brake pads were installed. This vehicle does not have: seat belts, air-conditioning, tape/cd player, side-view mirrors, power-steering, or power brakes. The vehicle weighs approximately 4,800 lbs. Please understand that this vehicle IS sixty years old and has never been a "show car". It has been a daily driver. It could be a "show car", "street rod", "chopped or channeled" ride, or "left as is" as a daily driver. I have provided a few links to sites which can provide information about this vehicle when it was new. According to the the 1952 Buick Special production numbers, this vehicle: a Model 41 - D, four door sedan. (see link: http://www.buicks.net/years/52.shtml ) See the original "1952 Buick Brochure" for more information: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.tocmp.com/brochures/Buick/1952/images/1952%2520Buick%2520Special_jpg.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.tocmp.com/brochures/Buick/1952/pages/1952%2520Buick%2520Special_jpg.htm&h=2207&w=1566&sz=770&tbnid=rWKiBkZCfN40-M:&tbnh=80&tbnw=57&prev=/search%3Fq%3D1952%2BBuick%2BSpecial%26tbm%3Disch%26tbo%3Du&zoom=1&q=1952+Buick+Special&docid=N9ul6ya4HeioYM&hl=en&sa=X&ei=pkysTsaSAobd0QH60YH_Dg&ved=0CEYQ9QEwAA&dur=2714 Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have a question. This vehicle is also for sale "locally". If you would like to examine the vehicle, look under the hood, "kick the tires", or take a test drive - I whole-heartedly encourage this. The "Reserve Price" is $4,500! So any bids from $2,500 to $4,499 will not purchase the vehicle by end of the auction. The "highest bid" between $4,500 to $6,199 will win the auction. If you wish to avoid bidding - and want the vehicle now.... click on the "Buy it Now" button for a purchase price of: $6,200. My aplogies to past bidders as eBay was forced to "end" the auction for this vehicle last Tuesday after the "BUY IT NOW" option was chosen by an apparent "fradulent" bidder. See attached e-mail below: Hello scottcworner, We had to cancel bids for the following buyer because they aren't registered on eBay: jammmyttt66 Please don't complete the transaction and don't ship the item. You may have received an email saying the buyer has paid. However, that's probably a fake message. To check if you actually received a payment, please log in to your PayPal account. For more information, visit: http://pages.ebay.com/help/account/questions/report-spoof-email.html If you've already shipped the item and didn't receive a payment, you can request a final value fee credit for the listing. To find out how, go to: http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/credits.html To help you avoid this situation in the future, consider setting a Buy It Now price and requiring buyers to make an immediate payment. For more information on immediate payments, visit: http://pages.ebay.com/help/pay/require-immediate-payment.html Also, please consider taking the following action: 1. Contact the company that was used to send payment to verify whether funds have cleared. 2. If the funds are fraudulent, contact law enforcement in the buyer's area and give them the buyer's name, address, phone number, and any other information that may be helpful. If someone is assigned to your case, please ask them to contact us so that we can help with the investigation. 3. Contact the shipping carrier to find out if you can stop shipment on the package. 4. If you used the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) to ship the package, consider filing a complaint at: https://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/forms/MailFraudComplaint.aspx 5. File a complaint with the National Consumers League's (NCL) Fraud Center at: http://www.fraud.org If you have any concerns or questions, click "Customer Support" at the top of most eBay pages. We're sorry for this inconvenience, and thanks for continuing to work with us. Thanks, eBay H12551 I hope that a "truly interested" bidder has the opportunity to bid and purchase this vehicle.Apparently eBay felt as though this was a fradulent bidder as he/she was not registered.
